Of all the Easter eggs inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, Link’s house is one of the easiest to find and most worthwhile. Although firmly set in its own timeline, theZeldaseries is no stranger to the odd Easter egg. The big, open-world 3DZeldagames may have more space for them, but it’s often the 2D games that become most notorious for their cameos and in-jokes. With their small and condensed maps, Easter eggs inLink’s AwakeningandEchoes of Wisdomare easy to find and easy to recognize.
Such is the case for Link’s house, which iseasy to find near the very beginning ofEchoes of Wisdom. Considering how muchEchoes of Wisdomcontributes to the overallZeldalore, this may not be the most fruitful chapter in the player’s exploration of Hyrule, but it will be an interesting one. Here’s how to find Link’s house inEchoes of Wisdom.

Where To Find Link’s House In Zelda: Echoes Of Wisdom
Link’s House Location
Link’s house is located in Suthorn Forest, within a small village situated in the northwest corner of the region. This is the first major settlement Zelda should come across on her travels; it’s easily accessible immediately after her flight from Hyrule Castle. Suthorn Village is a small settlement of only four houses, and upon Zelda’s arrival, she finds the place in despair. The people are mourning one of their villagers, a local young man who seems to have disappeared. And with poor timing, too, as monsters are closing in, and he was the best swordsman around.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Review - The Zelda I Was Waiting For
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom combines the freedom of recent titles with the structure of classic games, and it’s absolutely worth playing.
In particular,Link’s house is the one in the southwesternmost part of the village, nestled between two intersecting cliffs. It’s the one with a tree stump and an axe sticking out of it. Its rough location can also be seen, indicated by a red circle, ontheEchoes of Wisdommapabove.

In the middle of Suthorn Village, there’s a kid celebrating his birthday gift of a trampoline. Make sure to learn how to copy this useful item with Zelda’s Tri Rod.
Inside, Link’s house is decked out in green everything - carpet, sheets, decor - andthere’s a very familiar-looking pointed green hat hanging from one of his bedposts. (This appears to be a spare, as he’s wearing his green hat when he disappears at the beginning of the game.) Link also has what appears to be a statue of a cucco, and some surprisingly unbroken jars sitting in a corner of his room. They’re pretty unassuming lodgings, with just about everything an itinerant adventurer might need to get a good night’s sleep, but nothing more.

What Can You Do At Link’s House In Echoes Of Wisdom?
A Simple Easter Egg, Or Something More
Unfortunately, other than the cute visual references, there’s nothing of any real use inside Link’s house. There’s no secret dungeon, hidden item, or anything else of the sort. Players can’t even learn to echo any of the items he has lying around, so don’t expect to simply clone the missing Link and call it a day.
As Zelda explores the village, however, she can take the time to learn a little . Some villagers seem to know more than others; one is certain Link has fallen into a rift, while many others simply seem confused at his disappearance. All seem to regard him as a local hero and a reliable friend. It’s a pretty typical portrayal of the perennialZeldahero, but it does offer an interesting new perspective on how Link’s neighbors and loved ones feel when he’s away.

Legend Of Zelda Boss Promises Echoes Of Wisdom Won’t Be The Last “2D” Game
The Legend of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma reassures fans that Echoes of Wisdom won’t be the last game in the franchise to use the top-down perspective.
And at the end of the day, that’s whatEchoes of Wisdomis all about: new perspectives. TheZeldaseries always focuses on worlds in the grip of despair, usually having something to do with a missing princess. The people of these worlds come to rely on Link, whose heroism eventually saves the day.Echoes of Wisdomturns those concepts on their heads, with a missing hero and a world reliant on the princess he’s always saved. As a result, discovering Link’s house isn’t supposed to be some grand reveal or incredible reward; it’s a small, quiet, thought-provoking moment in an otherwise delightfully zany game.
Zeldahas always handled such tone switches masterfully, and this latest installment is no exception. It’s worth searching out Link’s house inThe Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, not for any material reward, but to appreciate the care and detail put into the game’s design.
