Pamela Duke’s Friend Has A Life-Threatening Allergy
She Was Served Raw Fish Abord Mustique
Although Pamela and her party were treated well during their time aboard Mustique, there were a few issues that couldn’t be ignored during their charter. One of the guests joiningPamela had a condition called hemochromatosis, which creates an elevated level of mercury in the body. Because of this condition, Pamela’s friend couldn’t have any raw fish, like that used in sushi. While she wanted to join in on the fun, it wasmade clear to Chef Jonothat he couldn’t serve her raw fish despite the guests’ desire to do a sushi night. The Chef seemed clear on instructions.
When the sushi night arrived, all of the guests were served a dish with raw fish as the main component. When Pamela’s friend was served,she explained that she wasn’t able to eat raw fish because it could kill her. Aesha and Captain Sandy quickly sprung into action, removing the plate and getting the guest something else while apologizing profusely for the mistake. Even though she was okay about the whole ordeal, Captain Sandy wasn’t. She explained to Chef Jono that he’d committed a fireable offense, and wanted a new chef aboardBelow Deck Mediterranean.
