ThroughoutHogwarts Legacy, the player is guided by the kindly Professor Fig, a mentor of sorts who helps the player figure out the wider mystery surrounding Isidora and her ancient magic. He is the one that introduces players to Hogwarts in the first place and guides them through the tutorial at the beginning. Naturally, a character like that has a big role to play in the finale, where the player must make a crucial choice.

No matter whether the player chooses to open or contain the Repository inHogwarts Legacy, Ranrok appears, steals the dark magic, and transforms into a giant glowing red dragon. However, if the player chooses to open the Repository in the hopes of stealing the dark magic for themselves, thenpoor Professor Fig will be crushed by collapsing rubble before the player fights Ranrok. It’s a truly tragic end for such a wonderful character.

Once the player defeats Ranrok, they’ll steal the dark magic, and their eyes will glow red, implying that they have become incredibly powerful, although this is left as justone of the many unsolved mysteries inHogwarts Legacy. This is then followed by a ceremony held by Professor Weasley in honor of Professor Fig, in which she delivers a moving speech about him. The player must sit through it,knowing that they were unable to save the Professor, and watched him die beneath the rubble.

Hogwarts Legacy takes place long before Harry Potter is born, but it features plenty of characters whose descendants appear in the books and movies.

Professor Fig Dies No Matter What In Hogwarts Legacy

Fig Dies Even If The Player Picks The Good Ending

If the player chooses the “good” ending inHogwarts Legacyand opts to contain the Repository, then Professor Fig will live a little longer.Fig will survive Ranrok’s initial attack, and will appear in the cutscene after Ranrok is defeated. Luckily, this means the player has a little more time with him.

There is absolutely no way to avoid Professor Fig’s death. Regardless of whether the player picks the good or bad ending, Professor Fig will die inHogwarts Legacy. The final choice doesn’t affect the ending much beyond how Fig dies and an unexplained fate for the main character.

Unfortunately, no matter what, Professor Fig is destined to die inHogwarts Legacy. After Ranrok is defeated, Professor Fig dies trying to contain the dark magic that Ranrok stole. The player has a touching moment with him before attending the ceremony held by Professor Weasley. It’s an incredibly sad end to a great character, one that ensures that no matter what the player does, Professor Fig is canonically dead in both theHarry PotterandHogwarts Legacyuniverse.
