Void Rivals#15 by Robert Kirkman, Lorenzo De Felici, Patricio Delpeche and Rus Wooten continues the story of Solila, who has set out on a quest tofind the mysterious Zerta-Trion, an ancient Cybertronian who apparently resides in the center of the Sacred Ring.
After a long fall through an endless blackness, Solila finds a mysterious green light. Seeing that it’s the perfect shape for the key she was entrusted with,Solila inserts the key and activates the ancient computer program Vector Theta.

Who Is Vector Theta in Transformers Lore?
The name Vector Theta should sound familiar toTransformersfans, as it recalls Vector Sigma, the Cybertronian supercomputer at the heart of the Transformers’ homeworld. In the traditional G1 continuity,Vector Sigma was the linkbetween the Cybertronians andPrimus, the creator-god of the Transformers. In ancient history, Primus transformed his body into the core of Cybertron, and Vector Sigma was the conduit through which the Transformers could access him. Possessing not only the entirety of recorded knowledge in the universe, Vector Sigma also grants life to new Transformers and sends the dying on their way to the Transformers’ afterlife.
Given Vector Sigma’s connection to Primus, it makes sense that Vector-Theta would be connected to Unicron.
The reveal of Vector Theta at the end ofVoid Rivalsis perhaps the most monumental reveal since the surprise appearance of Jetfire all the way back in the first issue. Solila activating Vector Theta at the end ofVoid Rivals#15 is thepayoff to multiple issues of set-up, which should lead to the biggest stories yetin the Energon Universe. Given Vector-Sigma’s connection to Primus, it makes sense that Vector Theta would be connected to Primus’ opposite, Unicron. In fact, judging by all the previous hints inVoid Rivalsthus far, it sounds like the Sacred Ring might be thecomatose body of Unicron himself.

With three more issues to go in the current story arc, the reveal of Vector Theta is hopefully just the tip of the iceberg for what fans can expect next.The Autobot Hot Rodis also reunited with Springer in this issue, and the two discern that the Sacred Ring is a well of Energon resources, meaning that the main setting ofVoid Rivalswill be a hot spot for the Energon Universe over the next year.
