Today’s Connections Category Hints
NOVEMBER 24 #532
As I said before, today’s puzzle was very good at luring me into a false sense of security before switching in the last two categories. Understanding why is important, andthe final 8 words seem like they do not really go together in a methodical fashionuntil you know what the categories actually are. This is always a challenge, although some players may recognize the blue category if they are familiar with the subject material.
5 Letter Words Wordle Hasn’t Used Yet (Updated Daily)
Wordle, the popular word-guessing game hosted by The New York Times, has over 1,700 words remaining as possible solutions.
If you need some extra help, check out thefollowing category namesto finish off the puzzle.

PITCH
REEL
This one felt easy today, as I saw the words HEAVE and LURCH and it seemed obvious. PITCH was a definite answer but trying to figure out what the last word was could be more difficult. I think of REEL as pulling something back in instead of throwing something away, but it fit in more than anything else and it was correct. However,Careen does not necessarily have the “throwing” connotationand can have other meanings, but that’s the problem with not knowing the category name when you are guessing based on what you see.
PLACE
THING
As someone who spent a lot of timereciting the functions of each piece of a sentence, this category did feel quite obvious. That might not be the case for everyone, and I could see some of these words getting mistaken for belonging elsewhere. However, I felt fairly confident mostly due to the fact that it didn’t feel like PERSON or PLACE could belong anywhere else, and the only two words I would associate with them in this puzzle are IDEA and THING, allowing me to eliminate other possibilities.

The Letter Boxed game for the New York Times mobile app asks you to connect letters to form words while using various strategies to win quickly.
JUNGLE
TRANCE
This is where things started to get tricky for me. I had no idea that there were even subgenres to what already is a subgenre of music to me. However,I do love a good nesting doll of genres, and now that I can see all of them together it does make sense. I actually, however, feel that if you like me did not know much about this type of music, solving the purple category first might be your best bet, which is always a dangerous thing to say but I do genuinely feel like it was a little easier.
TREE
WEDNESDAY
Depending on your cultural concepts,Ash TREE or Ash Wednesday might be the more recognizable wordsand the ones likely to lead you to the right answers. It’s a little weird seeing Ash Wednesday this late in the year, but that is what it is. Ash tray is also a fairly common thing, but just seeing TRAY by itself is unlikely to get you there. I do not know about BLOND, but it makes more sense than any of the words in the other category.
