The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Are Ready to Enter a New Era and Prove DC Wrong
The TMNT' new series is a massive hit among readers, and they’ve already set themselves apart from DC and Marvel’s heroes for one major reason.
IfApril will indeed be donning Casey’s masksometime in the near future, it could make for a pretty exciting development in theTMNTworld. The IDW continuity portrayedApril as an intern at StockGen Industrieswho befriends the Turtles, who were mutated while under her care. Once StockGen is attacked by Foot ninja, April decides to take some self-defense courses from new friend Casey Jones, eventually becoming a formidable warrior in her own right. While the two characters have always been closely tied together, April has never actually worn Casey’s mask before to become a vigilante in her own right.

Our Take On April O’Neil Donning Casey Jones’ Mask
A Historic First for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
New writer Aaronhas found several ways to interpret classicTMNTlore in new ways, andhaving April don Casey’s mask and join up with the Turtle brothers in their fight against the Foot would be pretty cool. The enemy ninja clan has completely infiltrated New York City at seemingly every level, banning mutants from the city, so the Turtle brothers are going to need all the help they can get in their fight. If April does indeed wind up donning Casey Jones’ hockey mask, she would no doubt be a valuable ally to theTeenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) is a multi-media franchise that began with Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird’s comics in the 1980s. Throughout the years, their comic books expanded to movies, TV shows, video games, and toys. Most notably, the animated Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles ran for nearly a decade and has become a nostalgic staple of the ‘80s and ‘90s. Several other movies have featured the four anthropomorphic turtle brothers (Leonardo, Michelangelo, Donatello, and Raphael), including the trilogy of live-action films in the ‘90s and the more recent movies Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and its sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.
