The conversation that unfolds between Chloe and Chelsea indicates that the former doesn’t have a great relationship with Greg. And he doesn’t seem to be enjoying himself as he sits in the background. However, Chloe indicates that she and Greg have been living together and dining at the White Lotus for about a year.It’s wild that Greg hasn’t been arrested in this time span, and it’s looking like we’ll have to deal with his antics for another season.

However, it’s also ridiculous that he’s in another outing of the show because he’s one of the series' worst characters. While very few of the characters inThe White Lotusare admirable or decent people, plenty of them have redeeming qualities. And even those who don’t are usually entertaining, like Jake Lacy’s Shane or Theo James' Cameron.Greg is both a terrible person and pretty dull, making him a strange choice to keep around.
At this point, the HBO series could probably do without Greg altogether.

There’s no reason to bring him back just to send this message; there needs to be a larger point. Giving Greg his comeuppance seems like the most obvious one.
