Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man episode 6.Spider-Man and Daredevil’s new fight shows how much potential them appearing together inSpider-Man 4has, and theMarvel Cinematic Universecan’t waste it. Since his debut as Matt Murdock inDaredevilseason 1, Charlie Cox has become linked with the character, with many believing his casting as Daredevil to be one of the best ever for live-action heroes. I also feel that way, and with Cox set to leadDaredevil: Born Again’s cast10 years after his debut as the Marvel hero, I can’t wait to see what the MCU has in store for him.

WhileDaredevil: Born Againseason 2 is already confirmed to be happening, I want to see Cox’s Matt Murdock play a bigger role in the movie side of the MCU.His return as the fan-favorite hero happened as a cameo in 2021’sSpider-Man: No Way Home. With that connection between Daredevil and Spider-Man established in the MCU, I think Cox’s movie future would be greatly served as part ofSpider-Man 4’s story. To that end, Marvel Studios chose to start 2025 with a project that puts both characters together again, and I loved what came of it.

Spider-Man & Daredevil’s Fight Is Awesome

Marvel Studios Makes The Characters' Meeting One To Remember

Charlie Cox is so good as Daredevil that Marvel decided to bring him back after the rights situation regarding the Netflix Marvel shows was resolved. After that, the MCU used Daredevil in multiple projects, with the hero appearing in cameos and supporting roles in movies and TV shows. The first of the MCU’s 2025 offerings once againbrings back Cox as Daredevil, but this time in animated form, which shows just how important the actor is for Marvel. Cox’s Daredevil made his debut inYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Manepisode 6.

The animated show takes place in an alternate universe where many MCU events, like the Sokovia Accords and Captain America vs Iron Man, have also happened, but with Spider-Man’s story playing out very differently. Episode 6 saw Daredevil’s debut, with the character breaking into Oscorp to get some information. Spider-Man, who is mentored by Norman Osborn in the series, tries to catch him, which leads toa high-energy fight between the two heroes on Oscorp’s rooftop. From the use of Daredevil’s theme from his Netflix series to the banter between the heroes to the impressive fight sequence, everything worked.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Sets Up The Dream Team-Up I Want In Spider-Man 4

The MCU Needs To Bring Daredevil Back For Another Spider-Man Project

Spider-Man and Daredevil’s fight was exciting for a few reasons. Not only did it look great onscreen, but Daredevil’s appearance led to him telling Peter Parker that there was more to Norman Osborn than meets the eye. While Osborn later suggested Daredevil was after his research on Otto Octavius, aka Doc Ock, I feel likethere is a lot more Norman is not telling Peter. Daredevil’s appearance and the fun banter between the heroes tease how they could team up in the future if Spider-Man eventually finds out that Osborn is holding on to a nefarious secret.

Okay, The MCU’s Newest 2025 Spider-Man Suit Reveal Has Really Won Me Over (Despite A Huge Change)

Marvel Studios has just revealed Spider-Man’s exciting new costume, and Peter Parker’s hero suit looks very different, with a comic book inspiration.

Spider-Man and Daredevil’s fight could lead to an alliance later in the animated series. That’s what I want to see from both characters inSpider-Man 4. Daredevil and Kingpin have long been rumored for the MCU film, but with no concrete details revealed aboutSpider-Man 4’s story and cast, it stands to be seen if they will actually be in the movie.Spider-Man: No Way Hometeased that team-up by having Cox’s Matt Murdock as Peter Parker’s lawyer. With Marvel Studios now showing it can do the Spider-Man and Daredevil relationship as well, I wantSpider-Man 4to use it.

Spider-Man & Daredevil’s Alliance Can Make Kingpin A Better Villain

The MCU Can Realize Wilson Fisk’s Full Potential

Besides giving us two of the MCU’s best heroes working together in live-action, I think that by having Spider-Man and Daredevil team up inSpider-Man 4, Marvel could make Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin even better.Wilson Fisk is already one of the most frightening MCU villains. However, the character still has to thrive in the wider world of the franchise, with his appearance inHawkeyeseeming off andEchonot allowing him to show his physicality as much as it could have.Spider-Man 4is the perfect project for that to happen.

Cox’s Daredevil is Kingpin’s rival. However,Fisk is also a major Spider-Man villain in the comics, and by having Daredevil and Spider-Man team up in the MCU, Marvel could finally tap into that unexplored potential. Kingpin would need to be presented as a physical and intellectual threat to a character at Spider-Man’s level if Daredevil were to team up with the wallcrawler to take Fisk down. I’m convinced that is the direction the MCU is headed in with its Mayor Fisk story.Spider-Man 4could have Kingpin outlaw New York’s vigilantes and hunt them down, just like in the comics.
