The 2025 series is a sequel to TNT’s four-season fantasy show, which ran from 2014 to 2018 and followed a group of “librarians” whose job was to protect magical artifacts. That show was itself a spinoff of the three-part TV movie franchiseThe Librarian, which starred Noah Wylie in the title role. Although theupcomingThe Librarians: The Next Chapterwas originally developed at The CW, it was pulled from the schedule in August 2024, two months before its planned premiere, and picked up by TNT a week later.

The one-minute video introduces four new adventures, first showcasing their personas individually, then revealing how they ping-pong off of one another in a group scene, complete with sarcastic jibes about how dangerous it is to work with such powerful magical artifacts. The trailer then offers quick glimpses at the adventures from the season, including a sword-fight, a monster hopping on top of cars, and a character climbing a metal structure at a precarious height. The Characters Are Coming To Life
