Episode #18 was narrated by Luminus Valentine, vampire demon lord and god of the Luminist faith, leading the nation of the Holy Empire of Lubelius from behind the scenes. Luminus was an important figure throughout the first half of season 3, as she is Hinata Sakaguchi’s direct superior, so getting to see her perspective on some of the events that have unfolded was at least a little interesting. While more of Luminus’s past was teased in the opening of the episode, with her and a mysterious figure frozen in ice, the identity of this frozen beauty remains a mystery for now.

At present, the English dub is about 3 episodes behind the subbed version, so fans should expect episode #16 to debut in English next.

Luminus Looks Back on The Saint-Monster Conflict
Episode 18 ofThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slimewas a recap episode, with the events narrated from the perspective of Demon Lord Luminus Valentine. The recap began with a brief summary of Rimuru’s contact with Hinata in the past and his ascension to Demon Lord himself, before moving onto a more detailed overview of the Saint-Monster Conflict, which made up the first half ofThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slimeseason 3. The episode laid out the deception by the Seven Days Clergy very clearly, and interesting made note than Luminus was unsure of how their leader, Gran, was actually defeated.
As the episode caught up to the present era, Luminus mused that perhaps it wouldn’t be such a bad idea to open up friendly relations with the Jura-Tempest Federation, helping her people and Rimuru’s to grow closer together. This would necessitate some change in the anti-monster doctrine of the Western Holy Church, but if anyone is capable of putting old doctrine to rest, it should be the god of the faith in the flesh. Luminus even suggested visiting Tempest’s upcoming festival with Hinata Sakaguchi at her side, perhaps hinting that she will appear in the coming episodes once more.

Rimuru Welcomes Dignitaries From Across the Continent
Episode #19 ofThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slimeis entitled “A Throng of Visitors.” Based on chapters 108 and 109 of the manga, Rimuru will be welcoming some big-name visitors, such as King Gazel of Dwargon and the leaders of Blumund. Rimuru will also have a chance to meet with Champion Youm and his party for the first time since he became king of Falmuth, now known as Farmenas. With a new kingdom in its place, Rimuru won’t necessarily have any need for the exorbitant restitution that was being demanded of the former leadership of the nation, giving Youm a clean slate to start off his rule.
The episode may also see Rimuru interacting with Yuuki Kagurazaka, leader of the guild, who has also secretly been working against Rimuru behind the scenes. Depending on how far it adapts, Rimuru may even get to reunite with his former students at the academy in Engrassia. The Lightspeed Hero Masayuki hasn’t been forgotten either, and should be rolling into Tempest quite soon, but is he actually here to fight Rimuru, or could this showdown actually be avoided?
With the long-awaited festival finally getting started in the next episode, many exciting events, like the labyrinth built by Rimuru and Ramiris and the coliseum battles, will soon begin, which should help breathe some vitality intoThat Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime.
