If the same is true for Cates, then his acclaim for the script is seemingly not incentivized beyond a genuine hope for the movie to perform well and the assurance thatKnull is, in fact, as faithful to the comics as he can be.
In Marvel Comics, Knull also comes face-to-face with other high-profile Marvel heroes like Thor and the X-Men, though these are Marvel-owned and highly unlikely to appear in Sony’s Spider-Man Universe.
