In previous issues ofThe Battle of Jakkucomic series, Luke Skywalker was called by the Force to a planet called Pillio. There, Luke found a Jedi Star Compass, and faced the Acolytes of the Beyond for the first time, as they sought to claim the compass for themselves. That compass eventually led Luke to the first ever Jedi temple on Ahch-To, and most likely to other planets strong in the force, such as Ossus, the home of Skywalker’s own Jedi Order. Since he found the compass,Luke’s path as a Jedi Masterhas changed dramatically.

Bridging The Past And Future

InRepublic Under Siege#1, Luke believes he’s won by getting the Compendium first, but the Acolytes seem to be planning something even bigger. Both the relics that Luke has found so far in Marvel’sBattle of Jakkucomics have connections to the Dark Side. The Star Compass previouslybelonged to Darth Sidious, and was stored in his observatory for years, while the Compendium belonged to Ky Narec, which may have at one point been possessed by his fallen student, Asajj Ventress. Clearly, the Acolytes have some kind of plan, if they are targeting these items.

Star Warsfans should put greater stock in Skywalker’s growing collection of Jedi relics, because they represent the next evolution of his character, and serve as a bridge between eras of the franchise.
