The Sims 4has revealed two brand-new DLC Kits – one made in collaboration with notable Custom Content creator SixamCC – and they’ll be available for purchase and download within a week. A recentSims 4roadmap already teased new features, these two new Kits, a special in-game event, a robust Expansion Pack, and continued free updates for the life sim, but until now, only the names of the Kits were known.
EAshowed offthe Storybook Nursery and the Artist Studio Kits and both will be available on all platforms on September 19, just a week after this official reveal. Both were announced via theSims 4roadmap, with their names giving players a decent idea of what to expect, but EA’s reveal has given some more welcome insight.

The former, theSims 4Storybook Nursery Kit, is a collaboration with SixamCC, known among theSimscommunity for their Custom Content creation. It aims to give the youngest Sims “a space that balances sophistication and whimsy,” which is a nice new layer to the age groups that had previously been the game’s most neglected. The Artist Studio Kit is designed to let the more creative among the Sim population let their craft flourish.
Sims 4 Storybook Nursery & Artist Studio Kits Will Help Players Design Personalized Spaces
Expected Cost: $5
While EA’s reveal doesn’t list a price, the Storybook Nursery and Artist Studio Kits can safely be assumed to cost $4.99upon their release, keeping them in line with the other Kits that have previously been added toThe Sims 4as DLC. Similarly followingSims 4Kit tradition, each focuses on a type of room, fleshing out spaces that have previously been lackluster in the annals of official content.
Roughly a year and a half ago,The Sims 4finally made babies more than just furniturewith a robust update to the game’s youngest Sim age group. The Storybook Nursery Kit is a welcome continuation of these updates, focusing solely on spaces built to enrich the lives of newborns, infants, and toddlers.SixamCCreleased a video on their YouTube channel discussing the Storybook Nursery Kit, highlighting how the new DLC will give players a range of options for designing a nursery, from Victorian-inspired elegance to more modern pastel coziness, and everything in between.
Conversely, the Artist Studio Kit is likely to cater to a wider range of age groups, letting Sims indulge their creative side in a space specially built for the purpose. From a painting studio to a carpenter’s workshop with the new woodworking table, players can surround their Sims with a wide array of tools, including “a variety of brushes, colorful paint cans, and new inspiring still-live objects that Sims can paint from reference or draw creativity from,” according to EA.
These two Kits join the long lineup of post-launch additions, contributing to thecontinually increasing price ofThe Sims 4, despite the base game adopting a free-to-play model. Kits do, however, offer a nice way for players to get official, desired content piecemeal, and serve as a way to continue supporting the game while waiting for thein-developmentSims 5. The announcement and quick release of the Storybook Nursery and Artist Studio Kits is a welcome surprise, though, asThe Sims 4gears up for its bigger release of theLife and DeathExpansion Pack in October.
