Summary
The world ofPokémon GOwill forever change on September 3 with the arrival of a new update for the mobile game. The popular title consistently receives updates as a live-service game and, over the course of years, has expanded significantly, moving beyond the creatures from Kanto and into several other generations. There are still severalrare Pokémon inPokémon GOyet to be introduced, and some of them will starting on September 3, along with a brand-new gameplay mechanic.
As was announced by developer Niantic through a post on the officialPokémon GOaccount on X (formerly Twitter),the starter Pokémon from the region of Galar will finally be made available on September 3, as well as the Dynamax mechanic. The post came with a short video teasing the new additions.

As can be seen from the video, Scorbunny, Grookey, and Sobble – the Gen 8 starters from Galar – walk in a straight line crossing a street. Shortly after, they are followed by what seems like a Dynamax Wooloo. The video serves as an announcement for theMax Out season, which will start on September 3 and last until December 3.
Pokémon GO: All Trade Evolutions & How To Get Them
In Pokémon GO, Trainers can evolve some Pokémon by trading them to others. However, unlike other Pokémon games, trading isn’t essential to evolution.
Pokémon GO Will Receive A Huge Update On September 3
Galar Starters & Dynamax Mechanics Will Be Introduced With The Max Out Season
While some creatures for the region of Galar have already been introduced toPokémon GO,the starters are still notoriously absent from the mobile game. This is not such a surprise as the mobile game gradually introduces creatures from regions and does not often dump an entire generation of Pokémon within a single update. Nonetheless, being able to capture creatures like Zacian, Zamazenta, and even Regieleki and Regidrago for years without having access to Grookey, Scorbunny, Sobble, and their respective evolutions has been somewhat annoying – but something that will end with the update on September 3.
Additionally, the Dynamax and Gigantamax seem to finally be making their way into the mobile title, though the details as to how this will work are still unknown. Previous gameplay mechanics include Mega Evolutions inPokémon GO, where players battle the Mega Evolved creature in raids and gather Mega Energy, which they can then use to Mega Evolve their own Pokémon. It is uncertain how players will be able to trigger Dynamax or Gigantamax on their own creaturesand if the mechanic will be available for all creatures as soon as it is released.

Legends: Z-A Mega Evolution Theory Is Pokémon’s Last Shot At Redemption
A new theory about the Mega Evolution mechanic in Pokémon Legends: Z-A may be suggesting the impossible, which would be great for the franchise.
The concept behind Dynamax and Gigantamax is to allow every Pokémon from the Gen 8 games to experience the central gameplay mechanic. While Dynamaxing allows every creature to become huge in size, Gigantamaxing alters the form of a select number of creatures, such as Charizard. Mewtwo’s two Mega Evolution forms, for instance, have not yet been released, so some Gigantamax creatures could take a while to be made available, even if the base Pokémon itself is already available. More details about Dynamaxing in GigantamaxingPokémon GOshould be revealed closer to September 3.
