Scarlet Witch’s Missing Chthon MCU Story Could Bring About Her Return
A Dark Elder God And Creator of the Darkhold
In Marvel Comics, Chthon was the creator of the Darkhold. He’s also responsible for imbuing Wanda Maximoff with chaos magic to one day possess her as a powerful vessel on Earth. However, this plan backfired seeing as The Scarlet Witch was able to use the Darkhold to seal and contain his spirit within her own.To that end, Chthon could be the natural path for Wanda to return in the MCU’s future.
While a statue of Chthon was featured within Mount Wundagore, his presence was non-existent inThe Multiverse of MadnessbeyondWanda’s gradual corruption by his Darkhold.Now, perhaps Chthon could take full possession of Wanda after she destroyed every copy and brought about her own demise. It’s hard to imagine the Elder God reviving and resurrecting her body as his brand-new vessel in the MCU’s future, though it would be one of the darkest ways in which The Scarlet Witch could come back.
