In the lead-up to the release ofPokemon TCG’sScarlet & Violet: Surging Sparksset,new details on upcoming cards are slowly tricking out, and this upcoming set has already fostered some high expectations for players. Not only willthe upcoming set bring Pikachu ex with the dazzling Topaz Bolt attack, but other powerful Dragon-type Pokémon are also expected to make an appearance. It’s not just the Pokémon in these cards that have players excited, though, as a new reveal unveiled an impressively powerful item card.

According to a leak fromPokéBeach,a new card called Disruptive Letter is being released as part of theParadise Dragonaset in Japan. The description on this item card reads, “Your opponent counts how many cards they have in their hand, shuffles them, and puts them at the bottom of their deck. Then, your opponent draws that many cards.” This new and powerful card will force an opponent to completely reevaluate their game plan, forcing them to pull an entirely new hand of cards to strategize with.

The Pokémon TCG’s Surging Sparks expansion is coming alongside an Elite Trainer Box filled with two promo cards, booster packs, and gameplay items.

Paradise Dragona Cards Will Release As Part Of Surging Sparks In The West

Depending on how well the opposing player mapped out their possible combinations in their deck,Disruptive Letter is a card that can absolutely destroy a player’s current plan of attack,giving the one who played the Disruptive Letter card a chance to strike. Players who play the card will also be able to play as many Item cards as they’d like during this turn, per the card’s description, giving them an opportunity to execute some serious strategy.

TheParadise Dragonaset releases in Japan on September 13, and though it’s not yet confirmed, the cards in this set, including Disruptive Letter, are expected to become part of theSurging Sparksset, releasing on November 8. The upcoming card set will feature Pokémon like Stellar Tera Pikachu ex and Alolan Exeggutor ex, along with Dragon-type Pokémon Latios and Latias.

TheSurging Sparksset is also expected to contain some cards from other Japan releases, like the Stellar Sylveon ex and Stellar Ceruledge ex decks, in addition to cards from both theParadise DragonaandSupercharged Breakersets. The upcoming set’s description teases eight ACE SPEC cards, nineStellar Tera Pokémonex cards, nine Pokémon ex cards, as well as a whole host of particularly rare cards to collect, including six gold etched cards.

ThoughPokémon TCGplayers are still months out from the release of the newScarlet & Violet: Surging Sparksset, details of what new cards could be included have slowly been trickling out of Japan, fostering a lot of excitement for the new pack. With over 250 cards in the set and a handful of new rare cards for players to collect, the upcoming set expands on the Tera Pokémon available to players, bringing in Pokémon from all generations.
