Poison Ivy’s Classic Abilities Return With the Promise of More to Come

Poison Ivy #30by writer G. Willow Wilson, artist Marcio Takara, colorist Arif Prianto, and letterer Hassan Otsmane-Elhaou

At the beginning of her current series, losing her link to the supernatural realm known as the Green sent Pam into a spiral, and she spent a considerable amount of time only able to partially control Lamia spores, which eventually turned into a full-on fungal zombie plague. In doing so, she blurred the lines betweenthe Green and the Gray, two of the primordial forces that shape the DC Universe, and struggled to understand her changed powerset. When Poison Ivy’s connection to the Green was eventually restored, death and resurrection only created further complications. Now, she’s finally started to take stock of what she knows she’s still capable of.

Luckily, all of her classic abilities appear intact after resurrection. Everything that put her on the map in the first place is back in her control, and she knows it. Nevertheless, her recent well-meaning attempt to focus on the people who matter andtake on the Green Knight organizationmean she hasn’t put her new body through enough tests to have a full picture of what other abilities she has at her fingertips.

Her healing abilities, pheromones, and plant control are present and accounted for, but she’s poised to tap into something even she doesn’t grasp.

In the past, the official avatar of the Green has been able to grow multiple bodies, unleash superstrength, cast illusions and grow to a gigantic size. Hopefully, some of those powers will soon be Ivy’s.Poison Ivyhas her full range of classic abilities, but she’s just at the beginning of her latest journey.
