The Chronicle Overhaul
This is a major change to the way the journal and the evidence system work inPhasmophobia.The photos are going to be replaced in the journal with an entire media section, where players are going to be able to log photos, videos, and sound recordings. The journal should automatically track which kind of media each one is and place it in the right spots, and it will also let players get a lot more XP from the evidence.
This is down to the fact that the media will reward players for “new” and “unique” pieces of evidence, which will give them lots of cash and XP,while players will receive much less for any duplicatesor pieces that the game determines are not unique.
The Sound Recorder is going to be a brand new piece of equipment, which explains how players will be able to get sound evidence as well. It is going to record paranormal sounds, and players will be able to listen to these recordings and discover helpful information - preferably in the relative safety of the van or outside the haunting area. It is also known that there will be three quality tiers of Sound Recorders.
Player Character Overhaul
Unfortunately, players still do not know much about the player character overhaul just yet. More information will be coming soon,but the developers have decided to stay quiet on that front just now. Thanks to a Developer Preview onKinetic Games' blog, players know much more about this rework than any other right now. It is known thatboth farmhouses mentioned are getting overhauled with new layouts and new areas. The Bleasdale Farmhouse is known to be getting a new garden andnew rooms that the ghost can haunt.
That is all that is known right now, but more is coming, andit seems like this will be one of the first updates to get added to the gameas it has the most known information about it.
Grafton Farmhouse Update & The New Map
Not much is known about either of these just yet,only that Grafton is receiving the same kind of update that Bleasdale is. The new map is known to be a small map, perhaps making it one for lower levels but not necessarily. Either way, it will be something new for players to figure out, and finding all the hiding spots will be a necessity right away.
