WARNING: SPOILERS FOR ONE PIECE EGGHEAD ARC

Luffy’s father, Monkey D. Dragon, has gained a reputation among theOne Piecefanbase for how little of an impact he’s made in the overarching plot, but the Egghead arc proved his work will have heavy implications in the series final arcs. Besides saving Luffy from being executed by Buggy in Loguetown, Dragon has made a habit of making rare and brief appearances throughout Eiichiro Oda’s epic, often without contributing to progressing the overarching plot. However, Egghead revealed how busyLuffy’s father has been inOne Piece’sworld.

Luffy’s biological family was barely involved in raising him, which heavily plays intoOne Piece’s theme of found family. While Luffy and his father have yet to meet in 1124 chapters of the manga, episode #1117 of the anime provides fascinating details about the progress Dragon and his Revolutionaries have made in their campaign against the vile and corrupt World Government.

One Piece’s Luffy Just Teased A Massive Betrayal Heading Into The Finale

One Piece’s story has delivered foreboding foreshadowing through Luffy who believes that the friends he’s partying with could soon become his enemies.

One Piece’s anime recently adapted the revealing conversation with the Revolutionary Army’s leaders discussing the Reverie’s startling events at Mary Geoise, the World Government’s headquarters and home to the vile Celestial Dragons. Sabo and audiences learned that under Dragon’s leadership, the Revolutionary Army inspired twelve separate kingdoms to attempt to revolt against the rule of the World Government. While eight of the oppressed dominions were successful, one has already suffered the consequences for standing against the organization that’s ruled the world with an iron fist for 800 years.

One Piece Luffy shocked and Sabo

After Sabo had barely survived his escape from Mary Geoise, he became one of the most wanted men inOne Piece’s world for witnessing the World Government’sleaders, the Five Elders, and their secret ruler Imu murder the honorable King Cobra of Alabasta. The genocidal villains believed the revolutionary had fled to Lulusia, one of the kingdoms that recently went against the WG’s rule. They used one of their ultimate weapons to obliterate the entire island, including the innocent people on it. Sabo wasn’t there, but the attack was a reminder of what revolution inOne Piececan cost.
