WARNING! SPOILERS ahead forFBIseason 7, episode 14, “Hitched.“I enjoyed the high-stakes drama for OA and Gemma on the train inFBIseason 7, episode 14, titled “Hitched,” but one detail about Gemma (Comfort Clinton) irritated me. OA (Zeeko Zaki) has experienced multiple traumatic events inFBIseason 7. In “Hitched,” OA’s getaway with Gemma turns into a new nightmare for him when hijackers armed with guns take over the train the couple is taking to Niagara Falls for a much-needed vacation.
OA’s attempt to overpower the perps leads to a struggle in which Gemma is shot and OA is tied up. The hijackers refuse to free his hands, forcing him to walk them through saving Gemma. In the climax toFBIseason 7 episode 14, OA moves Gemma to another train car while he tries to get into the driver’s car so he can stop the speeding train before it’s too late. However, these scenes point to an inconsistency in how Gemma’s injury is handled.

Gemma Was Shot Almost Fatally In FBI Season 7, Episode 14
She Lost A Lot Of Blood And Was Only Saved By Quick Thinking
Gemma’s injuries appear to be so severe after she is shot that it isn’t clear whether she will survive, and OA can’t help her himself despite his EMT training because his hands are restrained. Even after he talks the hijackers into following his instructions to provide emergency care for Gemma, it’s unclear whether she will be permanently departing theFBIseason 7 cast of charactersbecause of the amount of blood she’s lost and the amount of time that OA has to spend convincing the perps to do something rather than allow her to die.
Why CBS Canceled FBI: International & Most Wanted But A CIA Spinoff Is Still Happening?
In a shocking turn of events, CBS has canceled FBI’s two spinoffs – FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International. However, the franchise is far from over.
Fortunately, Gemma survives. However, sitting up seems to be painful for her. She continually winces every time she changes position, which is doubly upsetting because it will be a while before the FBI can rescue her and the other hostages from their ordeal. However, by the time OA needs to move her to a different train car, she no longer appears to be in pain, which contradicts her earlier physical state.

Gemma Standing Stably Again Despite Her Wound After Moving Trains Was Odd
It’s Almost As If The Writers Forgot Her Injury
During the climactic scenes, the focus is on OA’s attempts to stop the speeding train after he finally gets the hijackers to free his hands. This includes a dramatic scene where OA hugs Gemma, telling her, “In case I don’t see you again…” but Gemma refuses to accept the idea of this being the end for either of them. The procedural chooses to ignore her injury during these scenes, which is strange, considering how much pain she’d been in until this point.
This oversight is especially disappointing because the dramatic goodbye scene would have been even more powerful if Gemma was gasping for breath or otherwise demonstrating the severity of her injury…

When Gemma moves to the other train car, she doesn’t appear to have any pain, although after the crisis is over, she is shown recovering in the hospital. This odd disappearance and reappearance of her injury inFBImakes it harder to believe that she is having a medical emergency. This oversight is especially disappointing because the dramatic goodbye scene would have been even more powerful if Gemma was gasping for breath or otherwise demonstrating the severity of her injury while insisting she and OA would both survive and reunite with each other.
