During his battle against Code in chapters #1 to #4, Boruto proved himself as one of the strongest characters in the entire franchise. Even though she is still far from reaching her brother’s power, Himawari is not someone who should be underestimated. During the three years her brother spent away from the Hidden Leaf, Himawari trained non-stop to become a respected Kunoichi. Several times throughout the series, his death has been discussed as an inevitability. For example, in chapter #13, Kashin Koji revealed that his demise at the hands of Jura was a part of most timelines.
The Uzumaki heir fortuitously escaped this fate thanks to the cyborg’s intel, but he is still not safe from death at the hands of the still-growing group of Divine Trees. Kawaki could also be the cause of Boruto’s premature end, as he has often declared that he has the intent of eliminating all Otsutsuki from the face of the Earth. Naruto’s son himself has claimed that he would not fight his death if Momoshiki took over his body. If worse comes to pass, Boruto is willing to sacrifice himself to save his family.
