“I am definitely excited to see the second season of Maxon Hall because I just did the ADR for it. And the second season is like really, really grim and dark and a lot of grief and trauma. I had like a really tough time shooting that.”

Maxton Hallseason 2 was first announced in May 2024, with James Farrell, VP of International Originals at Amazon MGM Studio, saying (viaCollider),
“Maxton Hall - The World Between Us shows once again that local stories have the power to captivate global audiences. Following the French Original Medellín and Spain’s Culpa Mía and Reina Roja, Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is the next success from Europe that will inspire a global audience. We can’t wait to bring the second season to customers.”
Filming later began in Berlin and London in the summer of 2024 (viaTheCinemaholic). While no release date has been announced just yet, that Hardung is working on ADR suggests that the season is almost finished.

However, other cast members are almost certain to return based on the ending ofMaxton Hall - The World Between Us. James And Lydia Will Have To Deal With A Death In The Family

“And so that lightheartedness, which went away a bit shooting James in the second season because it’s just so bleak. So I really tried to get back to that because that’s, I think, something that’s very close to me. And I want to cherish and perish that character trait.”
That darkness stems from the tragic moment at the end ofMaxton Hallseason 1 when James and Lydia return home to discover their mother has died, and James violently retaliates against his father for his emotional abuse. Season 2 is sure to deal with James coming to terms with the loss of his mother and his anger against his father. At the end of the season,Lydia also learns she’s pregnant with Graham’s baby, a complication that will have repercussions in season 2.
As Ruby nailed her interview for Oxford and began a relationship with James, she’s the only one set to start season 2 with a rosy outlook on life. That means, of course, something bad is bound to happen, and Ruby will need to face another obstacle inMaxton Hallseason 2.
