According to the game’s lore,an angel gave Noah a set of stones with the power to “fold the Earth,“letting him travel across the globe to collect animals for the Ark and later deposit them once the flood subsided. Voss, naturally, wants this power for himself, but Indy doesn’t share his enthusiasm. Voss asks after Gina, and Indy lies, saying she’s long gone. Great Circle Has A Final Showdown Between Indy & Voss

Facing Off On A Storm-Swept Ark

Fortunately for the adventurers, things don’t go quite as Voss planned. His completion of the ritual doesn’t immediately give him the power he seeks, instead unleashing a mighty storm like the flood of Noah’s time. Taking advantage of the fact that Voss is distracted, Indy and Gina use her hairpin, which was given to her by her sister, to free themselves and Locus. As the storm rages,Indy comes face-to-face with Voss in a direct showdown, testing his prowess at fisticuffs against Voss’s exaggerated karate technique.

Voss frequently criticizes Indiana’s attachment to women and Gina’s love for her sister, so the hairpin’s utility is a nice thematic fulfillment that emphasizes the shortsightedness and arrogance of his ideology.
