It’s even interesting to be playing this character where, over the last four seasons, he’s had these little glimpses of connection with Jessica, the car ghost. And to feel seen is such a big thing for anybody.

And I think for someone who, for the last 500 years has been pining over someone who said “hi” to him 13 times, it was massive. It was massive to feel that energy even on set—to feel like “Wow,” and feeling seen. It was beautiful. I don’t even know. I’m even lost for words for it. But it is a beautiful thing.

And I think in addition to that, for me as a multicultural person of color, playing almost like a romantic lead for that moment on national TV is also a very big moment. And to have that moment of connection, it meant so much to me, and I don’t take it lightly. And I think that’s the beauty of representation.

What Sass' New Love Interest Means For Ghosts Season 4

Will Joan Stay At Woodstone?

Sass has found a romantic connection with two othercharacters inGhostsbefore Joan came about. While his romance with Jessica was rather short-lived, his feelings for Shiki have been around for quite some time. It’s why he was determined enough to see her that he was willing to risk his life, even if there was no guarantee he’d even live through the experience. However, theconnection he built with Ortega’s character over such a short amount of timemeans she might be the person who he can truly dedicate himself to.

“He Needs A Little Bit Of Time”: Ghosts Season 4 Episode 18 Ending Explained By Star Román Zaragoza

ScreenRant interviews star Román Zaragoza about Sasappis' major moment with Joan and why he’s always felt a connection to Shiki in Ghosts.

However, it’s unclear if she’s going to stay, given her status as a traveling spirit who can go to different locations. Depending on how deep her connection with Sass becomes, it’s possible she winds up becoming a regular at Woodstone duringGhostsseason 5. At the same time, this new environment is just one of many she’s been in, meaning there’s no guarantee that she’s willing to stay in one place forever. For now, though, it seems their connection will keep them together, even if future difficulties could arise.

A Good Sign For His Character Development

Since Sass now has a physical connection with Joan that seemingly triumphs over his feelings for Jessica and Shiki, he might end up starting a relationship that lasts a long time. This is a major step for his character, leaving it up in the air as to what the long-term implications of his new romance are going to be. However,Ghostsis likely to deliver a compelling story either way, one that highlights his feelings and what this new relationship really means for him and Joan.
