TheAlienfranchise’s facehuggers were already terrifying, butMarvel Comicsjust found a way to make them even worse. Attaching to their victims to implant host bodies with a chestburster, the skeletal, spidery facehugger is typically the first danger that’s faced when a new species is unfortunate to come into contact with xenomorphs. However, theX-Men’sMister Sinister just made them even more deadly.
In the newAliens vs Avengerscrossover by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic, Earth has fallen years in the future to the hordes of xenomorphs dropped byDavid-8 and his clones, spreading quickly and overtaking the planet like an unstoppable plague. As such, an elderly Iron Man and Captain Marvel are some of the last heroes standing alongside an adult Miles Morales, having escaped the planet along with as many civilians as they could carry in a colony ship built by Stark.However, a stop on Mars has proven disastrous thanks to Mister Sinister and a truly horrifying device:
While the heroes were gone investigating why Mars was deserted when it had long been a homeworld for mutantkind,Mister Sinister sent his clones to attack the colony ship armed with guns capable of firing literal facehuggers at their victims, making it even easier for the xenomorph population on Mars to grow and expand.

Devising An Immunity To The Xenomorphs
Mister Sinister siding with the xenomorphs is as logical for his character in this new crossover as it is brutal.The dark result is that the bulk of humanity Tony, Carol, and Miles managed to save from Earth has now likely been completely wiped out. Likewise, the end of the issue sees Iron Man himself having fallen, as a wounded Carol finds his body the day after Sinister’s ambush, a cavity in his chest and a dead facehugger lying next to him. Carol herself was rescued by the few remaining X-Men: Wolverine, Emma Frost, Armor, and Manifold.

Fede Álvarez has a great idea for an Alien vs. Predator movie, and although he doesn’t think it would work, it could actually be perfect.
Obsessed with evolution and creating the perfect species,Mister Sinister believes the xenomorphs are the pinnacle and peak specimens he’d long been searching for. To that end, Sinister has apparently decided to do what he can to continue studying the xenomorphs, having manipulated his genetic code so that the aliens won’t attack him. According to Armor, it seems as though Sinister and his clones may have also willingly allowed themselves to be implanted, but have somehowprolonged the incubation cycle so that the chestburster never actually “bursts”.

Wakanda May Be The Last Hope
Things were already looking grim for humanity before Mister Sinister, and now the odds are even worse.However, there is one glimmer of hope as the final page ofAliens vs Avengers #3sees two ships from the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda arriving. Seeing as how the first issue saw T’Challa and his son Azari taking down two xenomorphs with relative ease, perhaps Wakanda will be able to rally the galaxy and purge the xenomorphs once and for all.
