A Strategy-Filled Chapter That Shaped The Battle
This chapter was dialogue and word-dense, as is the norm in the Succession War arc. Prince Tubeppa, Zhang-Lei and Woble officially formed an alliance, in which Tubeppa and Woble would drop out of the race if the three were the only ones remaining. Meanwhile, Balsalmilco, Benjamin’s head of guards, plots to use a biological gas to kill Halkenburg, removing the powerful foe from the war.
The chapter then switches to Tserriednich’s training with Salkov, and he is making immense progress with his Zetsu training, so much so that Salkov is actually fearful. Furthermore, Salkov saying he has had experience with Zetsu since childhood, confirmshe is one of Beyond Netero’s children.
Melody and Kacho discuss Fugetsu’s curse and use the clues to pinpoint who it might be. Because of bite marks and possible involvement of drugs, they suspect seventh Prince Luzurus and hypothesize that his Nen Beast might be behind it without his awareness. They formulate a plan to kill him by setting off the curse that attacks a Prince when they attempt to leave the boat, so they decide to force him onto a mini-boat and force him to leave.

They decide to mark a portal in Luzurus' room by making Fugetsu visit, but to minimize suspicion after they eliminate him, they decide to visit every Prince’s room under the guise of delivering a letter written by Kacho to everyone before she died.
Kaiser accompanies Fugetsu into each Prince’s room, and one by one, she hands the letter to each of them. Kaiser’s brilliant plan to include real information that he found out in the letters worked, and it shook up Luzurus and made him cautious. As they continue to other rooms, Basho gives Fugetsu a charm that delays the effects of the curses, but they cannot exorcise them. With everything going smoothly, Kaiser is eager to deliver the letter to Halkenburg, who is ill and asleep.
This letter contains many bombshells that he wants to entrust Halkenburg with and use to his advantage. The monumental chapter ends with Kurapika reading the letter, and Melody entrusting him to save the Princes and end the bloodshed.

Major Players Are In Mortal Danger
On the surface, it seems that this was another chapter full of strategy and dialogue, but there are a few bombshells dropped that could alter the course of the arc. Firstly, Salkov is undoubtedly Beyond Netero’s son, and his proximity to Tsseriednich means the evil prince is in danger due to the curse placed on Salkov. Tsseriednich’s progress is also very fast, and it won’t be very long until fans can see him in action with his overpowering ability: Ephemeral Ten Seconds.
Shonen Jump Confirms That Hunter X Hunter Is Back To Stay
Hunter X Hunter’s future in the magazine has been decided and it will be here for the foreseeable future, much to the delight of fans.
The biggest reveal was that Balsamilco’s plot to poison Halkenburg might’ve actually worked. Kaiser said he heard a rumbling and concluded that it was Halkenburg responsible. This could mean that the prince was forced to attack someone, most likely Balsamilco, who is targeting him. Furthermore, Kaiser said the prince was ill. Balsamilco revealed that the poison gas takes 12 hours to kill a target, so it is very possible Halkenburg succumbed to the poison and that could be the reason why he is ill.
Hunter X Hunter’s Succession War Is Heating Up
Chapter #402 established that Halkenburg, Luzurus, and Tsseredniech are in grave danger. These three are some of the strongest in the war, and eliminating them would shake up the entire arc. So far, only relatively weak Princes like Sale Sale, Momoze, and Kacho have died, so the death of one of those three would be major.
