TheHigh Potentialseason 1 finale is a rollercoaster from beginning to end, but underneath the glorious madness lies a sneaky reunion between two stars of a former ABC drama series. In the last episode of season 1,Morgan and the otherHigh Potentialcharactersinvestigate a string of kidnappings, which all include a game of some sort and ultimately leads them to Oz’s grief support group. Unfortunately, they don’t find the game-enthusiastic perpetrator by the finale’s end. However,Morgan unknowingly bumps into the kidnapper in the grocery store parking lot, setting up the second season.
ABC renewedHigh Potentialfor season 2, which will premiere in the fall of 2025.
The unnamed suspect leaves a game for Morgan in one of her grocery bags with a note attached. It reads, “You’re the one, Morgan. We shall play again. Me and you.” Then, Karadec callsKaitlin Olson’sHigh Potentialcharacterand informs her of his recent discovery — Morgan’s missing ex-husband, Roman, is alive. The finale fades to black, leaving the audience with more questions than answers. WhenHigh Potentialreturns with season 2, the ABC police procedural series will undoubtedly address these cliffhangers, andperhaps, the season 1 finale’s hidden reunion will happen again.

He directed two of season 1’s most pivotal episodes, meaning Rodriguez might return to the director’s chair in season 2, which is much more likely than him appearing in front of the camera. He has mostly focused on directing sinceA Million Little Thingsended, making aHigh Potentialcameo more improbable. However, anything is possible, and given Rodriguez’s previous involvement withHigh Potential, fans could see him reunite with Giuntoli onscreen.
