But What Is The New Game Mode?

While the X post itself doesn’t give away too many details, PlayStation posted a link to their blog that gives the nitty-gritty on what to expect from theFortnite Ballisticmode. There will be two teams created at the start of each match, known as either the Defenders or the Attackers. Each team will have a different goal. The Attackers must successfully plant the “Rift Point Device”, which is an explosive that can be placed at one of two sites located on the map. The Defender’s job is to stop the Attackers from being able to release such an explosive.

Fortnite Chapter 6 Gameplay Trailer Confirms Godzilla, Alongside New Weapons & Skins

Fortnite’s Chapter 6, Season 1 arrives tomorrow and a new trailer has revealed what to expect, including Baymax, Godzilla, and plenty more content.

There are only two paths to success within this game mode, and since there are no respawns, matches should be relatively quick. The first way to secure victory is to detonate the Rift Point Device, while the only other way is to wipe out the opposing team in its entirety. Each match has a total of seven rounds, and after the sixth round of the match, the Attackers become the defenders. The team that wins a total of seven rounds claims victory.

Could This Be The Ultimate FPS?

The comments on the X post from PlayStation all appear to be quite positive, as one user known asStephen47325799states,“Bro,, Fortnite gonna be crowned as the ultimate FPS.“Other comments seem to agree that this new mode is a bit on the wild side for epic, sayingthis could “shake things up"forFortnitefans.

While I have never been a huge fan of Battle Royales, I have put several hundred hours into them playing with friends. I am more of a FPS person, so this new Ballistic Mode intrigues me and might get me to re-download the game and give it a try. With titles likeCall of Duty,Overwatch, and now evenMarvel Rivalstaking over the FPS genre, it will be interesting to see how this pans out for Epic, and whetherFortnitefans will enjoy the new mode overall.
