It comes across as somewhat silly and played for a laugh, given the levity of an ice cream commercial against the typical life-or-death stakes that the three characters usually find themselves in. However, it could be a legitimate glimpse atwhat a happy ending for Dom and Letty looks like. The two were introduced in the franchise living a simple life in a modest home (albeit as criminals), and it’s clear that all they need is each other and a fast car, and perhaps some ice cream to enjoy.
Dom & Letty Deserve A Happy Ending With Fast 11
They’ve Been Through So Much Turmoil Across 11 Movies
It’s just a :30 commercial, but it provides a glimpse at the ending that Dom and Letty have always deserved. Over the course of theFast and Furiousfranchise, Dom and Letty have been tragically torn apart, put back together, and threatened at every turn. One of the most inspiring and heartwarming elements of the entire franchise isDom’s determination tobring Letty backwhen she loses her memory, and that kind of love deserves to be cosmically rewarded.
While they began the series as ground-level thieves, they both have evolved into heroes trying to save the world from potentially global threats. They deserve to finally be able to rest and enjoy their life togetherwithout the threat of danger, and a coastline drive in the sunshine with some ice cream is a great way to go about it. It seems unlikely thatFast X: Part 2will end on something quite so saccharine, so it’s nice to see that happy ending played out, even if it’s just in an ice cream commercial at the Super Bowl.
