LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxyturned these 7 surprisingStar Warscharacters into Sith Lords.Rebuild the Galaxyproved to be an incredibly fun addition toStar Wars’ movies and TV shows, although the show isn’t canon. Rather, the four-episode series explores whattheStar Warstimelinecould look like if the universe was turned upside down.

This led to hilarious plot points, such as Luke Skywalker rejecting the life of a Jedi in favor of a persona more akin to a surfer and (Jedi) Vader and Palpatine bickering on the Jedi Council. However, it also saw the return of many familiar faces but in quite a different role. Specifically, severalStar Warscharacters who fought alongside the Rebels and/or the Resistance, Jedi and non-Jedi alike, became Sith inRebuild the Galaxy.

LEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxy just make a shocking joke about Rey adopting the last name Skywalker, raising questions about Rey’s future.

7Dev Greebling Joined The Dark Side As Darth Devastator

Sig’s Beloved Brother Became The Main Antagonist

The only brand-newStar Warscharacter to become a Sith Lord inRebuild the Galaxywas Dev Greebling, who became Darth Dev, or Darth Devastator, in this alternate reality. This proved to be a major aspect ofRebuild the Galaxy, as Dev’s brother, Sig, was the protagonist. Sig became desperate to turn his brother back to the light side of the Force and restore things to normal, which was the main plot of the show.

This ended up following the lines of the originalStar Warstrilogy, as Dev was shown battling with the attachment of family (brothers, in this case, rather than father and son) and the pull to the dark side of the Force. Outside his Sith Lord status, Dev also proved how brilliant the minds behindRebuild the Galaxyare and how well they truly knowStar Wars. Specifically, ‘Dev’ was also the name used by Ezra Bridger when he went undercover as a stormtrooper inStar Wars Rebels.

6The Rise Of Skywalker’s Vision Came True In Darth Rey

Rey Was Finally The Sith The Sequel Trilogy Teased

One of the Sith Lords whomRebuild the Galaxyhad already revealed would be in the show was Darth Rey, the dark side version of the sequel trilogy protagonist, Rey Skywalker. Interestingly, this choice made good on an idea introduced inStar Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. InThe Rise of Skywalker, Rey saw a vision of herself as a Sith, complete with a double-bladed red lightsaber and chillingly animalistic sharp teeth.

Sadly, this was only a very brief moment inThe Rise of Skywalker. Many were disappointed by the brevity of this concept because it seemed so promising. The sequels unfortunately faced considerable backlash and continue to be seen as some ofStar Wars’worst movies,The Rise of Skywalkerespecially. Had Rey instead taken a turn for evil and become this terrifying being, it could have proven very interesting. Nevertheless,Rebuild the Galaxydid bring this character back in a more significant way.

Rose Tico Finally Got A New Star Wars Story

One of the more surprising inclusions amongRebuild the Galaxy’snew Sith Lords was Rose Tico, yet another Resistance fighter from the sequel trilogy. Rose was introduced inStar Wars: The Last Jedias a quiet, even somewhat awkward young woman who tragically lost her sister in Poe Dameron’s foolish plan at the beginning of the movie. However,The Last Jedisaw Rose transform into someone brave enough to risk her life to save Finn. Sadly,The Rise of Skywalkerfailed to build off this character development, sidelining Rose almost entirely in the trilogy’s final installment.

However,Rebuild the Galaxybrought Rose back in a thrilling way, revealing her to not only be a Force-user in this timeline but also a Sith. This is unlikely to have any canon implications, asRebuild the Galaxyclearly had fun playing with characters in completely unexpected ways. However, it would be interesting to see whether the notion of Rose Tico being Force-sensitive could be introduced in Rey’s upcomingStar Warsmovie, rumored to be titledStar Wars: New Jedi Order. While Rose isn’t confirmed to be returning, she’s one of several characters audiences are expecting to see.

4Young Jedi Adventures' Adorable Character Turned Into Darth Nubs

This Sweet Character’s Transformation Was Perhaps The Most Shocking

Rebuild the Galaxypulled characters from far beyond the Skywalker Saga to be Sith Lords as well, perhaps most clear withDarth Nubs, the Sith Lord version of the adorableStar Wars: Young Jedi Adventurescharacter Nubs.Young Jedi Adventuresis a canonStar WarsTV show set duringthe High Republic Era. What makes Nubs' appearance inRebuild the Galaxymost shocking is the nature of this show.

AlthoughYoung Jedi Adventuresis canon and explores an exciting period of theStar Warstimeline still minimally shown on-screen, the show is targeted to a much younger audience than typicalStar Warsshows and movies. While George Lucas has always maintained thatStar Warsis for kids,Young Jedi Adventurestargets a demographic closer to preschool age. Nevertheless,Rebuild the Galaxytook the fuzzy, sweet character from the show and turned him into Darth Nubs, just as menacing as the other Sith introduced in the series.

3Beloved Jedi Kit Fisto Became A Sith Lord

This Prequel Trilogy Council Member Took A Dark Turn

BecauseRebuild the Galaxywas playing with the entirety of theStar Warstimeline, the series also pulled from the prequel trilogy. Specifically, beloved Jedi Master Kit Fisto returned to theStar Warsscreen, this time as a Sith Lord. Kit Fisto was featured in both the prequel trilogy movies and theStar Wars: The Clone WarsTV show. Sadly, he fell alongside the other Jedi who attempted to apprehend Palpatine inStar Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, but, prior to that, he had established himself as a powerful Jedi who sat on the highly respected Jedi Council.

However,Rebuild the Galaxysaw Kit Fisto in a brand-new role inStar Wars, as a Sith Lord. This appearance raised fascinating questions about how significant a threat Kit Fisto could have been as a Sith in the prequel trilogy. Of course, Palpatine already had Anakin Skywalker, one ofStar Wars’most powerful Jedi, primed to become his Sith apprentice, so his interest in Kit Fisto may have been minimal. Nevertheless, Kit Fisto was clearly a skilled Jedi Master, suggesting he could have become a truly dangerous Sith.

2Rebuild The Galaxy Introduced Darth Hammerhead

Even Sig seemed surprised when Darth Hammerhead stepped off the ship among the many other brand-new Sith Lords. While Hammerhead may not look familiar to everyone, he has appeared inStar Warsbefore. In fact,‘Hammerhead,’ whose real name is Momaw Nadon, was in the very firstStar Warsmovie. While his role was limited, Momaw Nadon appeared in the famous Mos Eisley Cantina scene. However, at the time, Momaw Nadon had no name.

Eventually, Momaw Nadon was given the name Hammerhead for his Kenner Products action figure. Later, his full name was revealed in a sourcebook that became part of Legendswhen Disney boughtStar Wars, and, finally,Star Warscanonized the name Momaw Nadon in the 2015 reference bookUltimate Star Warswritten by Patricia Barr, Adam Bray, Daniel Wallace, and Ryder Windham. This arguably makes Darth Hammerhead the most impressive of the Sith Lords included inRebuild the Galaxy, as he was a particularly deep cut.

1Jar Jar Binks Finally Became Darth Jar Jar

The Long-Awaited Darth Jar Jar Has Now Appeared On-Screen

Easily the most thrilling Sith Lord introduced inRebuild the Galaxywas Darth Jar Jar. It has long been a theory in the franchise that Jar Jar Binks was a Sith Lord all along. In fact, although the notion of Jar Jar Binks being a Sith Lord began as a joke in the fanbase (as the idea seemed so preposterous),audiences began to genuinely wantStar Warsto canonize Darth Jar Jar. Notably, that still hasn’t exactly happened. Again,Rebuild the Galaxywas not a canon addition to the franchise.

It has long been a theory in the franchise that Jar Jar Binks was a Sith Lord all along.

However, this version of Darth Jar Jar is likely the closestStar Warswill come to canonizing Darth Jar Jar, and it really was delightful to see. The idea that Jar Jar Binks could be a Sith Lord is ridiculous for the very reasons the Sith version of the character is so terrifying. For one, Jar Jar Binks' unique way of talking (which was highly criticized followingStar Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace) becomes much creepier when put in an evil context.Rebuild the Galaxymade that clear with the chilling line,“Mesa going to hurt yousa.”

For another, Jar Jar Binks is the last character one would expect to secretly be a Sith Lord—and that makes him even more dangerous. This is precisely why some began theorizing that Jar Jar’s less intelligent nature was really a cover for his evil intentions, such as supposedly helping Palpatine gain additional power in the Senate to further his Imperial plot. In light of that, fans' interest in this storyline makes sense; Darth Jar Jar really is an oddly brilliant villain. Nevertheless,Rebuild the Galaxyis likely audiences' only chance to see this Sith Lord on-screen inStar Wars.

Clearly,Rebuild the Galaxyworked to bring numerous incredible Sith Lord concepts to the show. In fact, the series happily brokethe Sith Rule of Twoto make this possible, and it had a tremendous outcome. WhileLEGO Star Wars: Rebuild the Galaxymay not beStar Warscanon, it brought a number of surprising Sith Lords to the screen, chief among them (finally) Darth Jar Jar.
