The new season was announced at the recent D23 Expo’s Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase, teasing a newstory centered around the iconic Marvel villain, Doctor Doom - who was revealed to be Chapter 5: Season 3’s “The Wanderer” - intends to use the power of Pandora’s Box to take control of the Island, setting up a kingdom and gathering a team of classic marvel villains, such as Mysterio, to assist in this mission.
This prompts one ofFortnite’s original 8 Recruits, Jonesy, to don a Captain America-themed outfit - appropriately dubbed Captain Jonesy - and assemble many classic Marvel heroes to oppose this threat.Players can look forward to playing as Gwenpool, War Machine, orShuri’s iteration of Black Panther,with the likes of Fantastic Four and Fishpool reportedly joining later in the season. Meanwhile, the X-Men will also make an appearance somewhere in the story, although there’s no word on whether any of them will be playable. As is often the case with these themed seasons, each hero comes to the Island equipped with an arsenal of new weapons that mirror the powers and abilities of each character from the source material.

War Machine Has A New Array Of Weapons
As is the case each season, the loot pool and gameplay are changing significantly going intoAbsolute Doom, and as a result, several new weapons will be added to help defeat the new types of foes, as listed on the officialFortnitewebsite. Several of these were shown in the new trailer, with the Wolverine-inspired Peelverine firing dual SMGs - of which Gwenpool has a Mythic pink version - andWar Machine soaring high above the battlefield, taking out his enemies with some heavy artillery.

As well as dropping Mythic weapons, Mysterio and the Doombots drop a Stealth and a Siphon Medallion, respectively, with the former granting temporary invisibility while crouched and the latter providing Health and Shield Siphon from eliminating opponents.
Most of these weapons can be found in chests across the map, but modded weapons with attachments can also be found in the loot that drops from fallen opponents.
