It’s taken a bit of time, but it would appear thatDying Light 2‘s post-apocalyptic community of survivors has finally discovered a tucked-away trove of firearms, against all odds. It was revealed early on that the world ofDying Light 2wasn’t going to include gunsas such, with the sole exception to this rule being the meagre scrap blunderbuss. At the time, this was a lore-based decision, with the developer Techland choosing instead to focus on the game’s melee combat. Yet, an upcoming content update throws this entire explanation into the bin.

Over the next few months, Techland will introduce a surprisingly comprehensive selection of all-new gear and content intoDying Light 2. While the shown-off shotguns and pistols are plenty exciting on their own, players can also expect new missions, features, and crossovers to boot. For example, it’s now possible to repair used-up melee weapons, which alone will be a huge surprise to many players.

Free Dying Light 2 Content Roadmap

While Techland hasn’t been shy about supporting its games long after they first came out,Dying Light 2‘s new free content roadmap certainly came out of the left field. To summarize all the important bits, players can expect the following features and content:

Further, there’s a separate list of events and crossovers coming toDying Light 2as well:

Wuyang OW2 ultimate

All of the above will be coming into the game over the course of the coming months. Players shouldn’t expect a single huge content update, then, but a trickle of smaller releases instead, with special crossovers and whatnot peppered throughout the rest of 2023. It’s a promising showcase, but only if Techland sticks to its schedule.

As for the microtransactions, those are almost certainly here to stay, although it is likely that they’ll be revised in some way, shape, or form, according to Techland itself.
