Bulmais the longest-serving character alongside Goku returning inDragon Ball DAIMA, with her return and prominent role in the series serving as a fond look back at the franchise’s history. After all, Goku’s journey began inDragon Ballchapter #1 upon meeting Bulma, mistaking her and her car for a demon, so they should be taken on an adventure to the Demon Realm. Much like the rest of the cast, Bulma was shocked upon finding out she wasshrunk into a child like Goku inDragon Ball DAIMA, yet she also took it in stride. Vintage Dragon Ball Adventures Ahead!
InDragon Ball DAIMAepisode #2, Bulma discovers her transformed state alongside Chi-Chi, taking it relatively in stride compared to Goku or Vegeta, even appreciating the wonders it’s worked for her skin. But the rest of the episode features her repair efforts on Supreme Kai Shin’s spaceship, originally used long ago to reach Universe 7, having since fallen into disrepair. With Bulma’s mind as sharp as ever, she confidently reassures Shin and Kibito that she’ll only need ten days to get the ship operational, provided Kibito supplies her with the equipment she needs inDragon Ball DAIMA.
The moment reminds viewers of her background as a tech genius and what great support she can be for Goku, showing howthis friendship was always their ideal dynamic. Bulma also shows her classic moxie in the new series, calmly giving Kibito her requests, knowing he can teleport and save her time while she conducts her repairs, with Kibito tacitly complying. Bulma also won’t simply be repairing Shin’s spaceship either, with every indication from the ending credits to Glorio’s appearance proving that she’ll join Gokuin the Demon Realm inDragon Ball DAIMA.

The Character Will Probably Play a Big Role Later in Dragon Ball DAIMA
As Glorio finally appears near the end ofDragon Ball DAIMAepisode #2, initially teased by episode #1’s post-credits scene, Bulma sees his spaceship as a reference to speed up repairs on Shin’s vessel. As Glorio summons Goku on behalf of the king of the Third Demon World, with only one extra seat taken by Shin, Vegeta, who wishes to attend, cannot help. With Bulma’s repairs on the ship to enable her husband’s passage and further indications from the end credits that Piccolo will also join,Bulma will likely fly the old spacecraft herselfinfutureDragon Ball DAIMAepisodes.
Dragon Ball DAIMA Introduces A Big Shenron Retcon That Changes His Relationship With Goku Forever
Shenron is one of the most important characters in Dragon Ball with unparalleled sway over its characters, but DAIMA retcons his wish parameters.
For many, this reminds fans of Bulma’s use of a Namekian spaceship in the Namek Saga alongside Krillin and Gohan, although now with a greater focus on how essential Bulma is to the operation. She quickly deploys her Capsule Corporation drones to get working on Shin’s ship, not held back in any way due to her primary gifts being her intelligence and technical knowledge. ButBulma’s role inDragon Ball DAIMAis also refreshing because it goes back to her roots, something not always the case in otherDragon Ballstories.

Dragon Ball DAIMAReturns Bulma to Her Roots Unlike Other Sequels
She Finally Got Her Wish to Be Younger
Bulma’s role in theDragon Ballseries is more storied than most, despite never being intended as a fighter, unlike most other main characters, soDAIMAallows her to shine again because of her gifts. This was true inDragon Ball, and slightly less prominently inDragon Ball Z,with evenSupernot sidelining her, from crafting new armor for Vegeta to a new Super Dragon Radar inDragon Ball Superchapter #6. However, Bulma would soon become underutilized, wishing to be five years younger inDragon Ball Super: Broly, and doing something similar inDragon Ball Super: Super Hero.
Part of this is not necessarily out of character for Bulma, who originally wanted to use the Dragon Balls to wish for a boyfriend. So, undergoing a drastic transformation back into a child inDAIMAis certainly one way to get younger. But instead of her quirks and wasteful wishes being played for humor, inDragon Ball DAIMAshe is an incredibly helpful teammate, as while her friends are weakened, she’s sharp as ever in episode #2. It’ll be truly exciting to see what Bulma has in store for the future ofDragon Ball DAIMA.
