Since it’s his very first introduction to Miami Metro and he’s trying to make a good first impression, it seems like a missed opportunity to not have him walk in with his classic assortment of donuts. This small but significant detail was such a key part of his workplace persona at Miami Metro, so its omission from the premiere feels like an obvious oversight.

Hopefully, like other aspects of Dexter’s younger self, there will be an insightful explanation of why Dexter started bringing in his classic donuts in future episodes ofDexter: Original Sin.
