Deadpool & Wolverineactress Leslie Uggams unpacked how she thinks her character Blind Al would react to Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) bringing Logan (Hugh Jackman) home with him. The movie’s end sawDeadpool welcoming Wolverine and X-23 (Dafne Keen) into his life–and presumably Blind Al’s. At New York Comic Con, she hilariously reacted in character when discussing whether Al would like Wolverine moving into their one-bedroom apartment. The actress stated:
My best moments are with Wade, or Deadpool, so I’m kind of jealous of other people. I have to say that Wolverine’s okay, but Wade was my guy. That’s my guy! A little jealousy going on there. “You’re taking up too much of his time.” He’s all right. I mean, there’s nothing in the world better than Deadpool and that relationship, so she’s kind of like the mama in a way. He can tell her anything and stuff like that, and they like to kid each other so well.

She elaborated that Logan is"kind of in the way, but it’s okay because he is fine.“Uggams said Blind Al “can’t complain about those muscles” and that “He’s a good-looking man.“TheDeadpool & Wolverinestar’s explanation is equal parts funny and accurate to the characters.Additionally, the ending of the film reads a bit differently after reading what she has to say.
What Leslie Uggams' Comments Mean For Deadpool & Wolverine
Uggams' comments leave two major takeaways regardingDeadpool & Wolverine: that Logan does move in with Wade and that Blind Al likely has both a rivalry with and an attraction to him. Her hilarious response indicates that Blind Al actually does love Wade on a maternal level. As a result, she’s not a huge fan of Wolverine taking the attention off of her. In spite of that,Blind Al has a little crush on Logan, with Uggams quipping “Blind Al, she may be blind, but she ain’t dead!” While Uggams is clearly joking, her insights into how Blind Al feels about Logan are fun.

In addition to discussing Blind Al’s relationship with Logan,Uggams also revealed how she felt about working with Jackman for the first time. She said that he’s “an incredible actor, but he’s also an incredible human being.” The actress further explained:

When we first got on the set, he wanted to know about my career working with Ella Fitzgerald and people like that. That’s what we talked about most of the time. He’d go, “Oh my God. You worked with Ella, and you worked with Louis [Gossett Jr.],” and stuff like that. So, we had a lovely rapport. And he’s so good in this. So good!
Uggams' kind words paint a lovely picture of what filmingDeadpool & Wolverinewith Jackman was like. Hopefully, this bodes well for the actress returning to any futureDeadpoolsequels.

Our Take On Leslie Uggams' Comments
Blind Al is a fun counterpart to Wade, and seeing more of her dynamic with Logan would be a blast. The comedic potential is dripping off of Uggam’s comments, and another film featuring Deadpool and Wolverine could take full advantage of this. With the film’s success, it’s hard to imagine a world where we don’t get more of Reynolds' Deadpool, which means we may see Blind Al too.Deadpool & Wolverineis available to buy on Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, YouTube Movies & TV, Google Play, and Fandango At Home, and it will debut on Disney+ later this year.
