InRevenge,Colossus and Deadpool are teammates for practical reasons, and there are no signs in the first issue that they care for each other beyond that, or that they’re even friendly at all.

While Colossus and Deadpool have orbited each other through various teams and books over the decades, it was their dynamic in Fox’sDeadpoolmovies that actually established a (reluctant) friendship between the two. Since then, books including writer Benjamin Percy’s recentX-Forcerun, have paired the two as team members, even though their interpersonal relationship has not reached the levels it has in the cinematic realm. Still, the pairing has natural upsides; Deadpool is all snark and jokes, whileColossus is almost embarrassingly earnestand self-serious.

That said, theversions of the characters fromWolverine: Revengehave very little in common with their movie counterparts. So far, Deadpool has been portrayed closer to his original 1990s depiction, a ruthless mercenary with no regard for human life. Meanwhile,Colossus is more ideologically driven than ever, wishing to restore Russia’s dominance on the world stage via control over the world’s power supply. InRevenge,Colossus and Deadpool are teammates for practical reasons, and there are no signs in the first issue that they care for each other beyond that, or that they’re even friendly at all.

Even if there is a chance Wolverine can save either Colossus or Deadpool, the traditional allies are certain to come to blows before too long, as Logan’s path of bloody revenge commences.

The teamis headed by Mastermind, who can create illusions to help control people, so it’s possible that either Deadpool or Colossus aren’t fully in control of themselves. This isa dramatically different Marvel Universehowever, so maybe they’re just evil in this reality.
