Dafne Keen has just raised my hopes for more Marvel Cinematic Universe appearances in the future after her role inDeadpool & Wolverine. Keen’s appearance as X-23 was one of the more rewarding, anticipatedMarvel cameos inDeadpool & Wolverine, primarily due to the love she received for her performance inLogan.The fact thatLoganis often regarded as thebest-rankedX-Menmovieonly bolstered how exciting it was to see Keen return as Laura and reunite with Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.
As ofDeadpool & Wolverine’s ending, Laura was shown living happily with Logan and Wade. Situated in theFoxX-Menmovie timeline, the film’s conclusion was more open-ended than I first assumed, with my theory being that the timeline would be rendered inert and combined with the MCU. Regardless of how it happened, the ending ofDeadpool & Wolverinegave me hope that Logan, Wade, and, of course, Laura could return in the future of the MCU. Now, thanks to some exciting comments from Keen, this hope has somehow been increased.

Laura’s Return Could Come Sooner Rather Than Later
The comments in question came viaThe Direct, with Keen speaking about her reintegration to the Marvel Cinematic Universe at the 2025 Saturn Awards. When asked about whether Keen would like to see Laura return in any capacity, the actor gave a few more interesting tidbits than I expected. Keen stated she would"like to see her in a fun team-up,“while also noting how fun it was to do smaller, gritter stories likeLogan. Keen went on to say:“So that’s fun… But, I’d also be very, very open to a big whole action fight team up with the Avengers.”
These comments from Keen are highly exciting based onupcoming Marvel movies. In 2026 and 2027,Avengers: DoomsdayandAvengers: Secret Warswill be released. Just as was the case withAvengers: Infinity WarandAvengers: Endgame, I am expecting the two upcoming stories to feature countless Marvel heroes, this time from across the multiverse. With Keen’s comments added to this possibility, the X-23 actor has only made a follow-up appearance toDeadpool & Wolverinefeel more plausible. Hopefully, this desire from Keen is fulfilled, and Marvel Studios fits her into the story ofAvengers: Secret Wars.

Furthermore, Keen commented about Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine too, stating:“Well, can we both [Laura and Logan] be there? Yeah? OK, good. If we’re both there, I’d be really happy.“This was when asked about post-Secret Warsstories, but it is clear Keen wants to return with Hugh Jackman’s Logan rather than as a solo Wolverine herself.

Thanks to the planned story ofAvengers: Secret Wars,the possibility of Keen and Jackman returning as their characters is huge, likely alongside Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool. Be it in the original comic book storyline of the same name or the 2015 version,Secret Warswas set on Battleword. This was its own universe that mashed together countless universes from across the Marvel multiverse, resulting in many heroes coming together for the first time.In 2015’sSecret Wars,the multiverse itself collapses, with Doctor Doom creating Battleworld to save what was left, only to later rule it as God Emperor Doom.
Regardless of which version the MCU adapts withAvengers: Secret Wars, it will result in several Marvel universes clashing together. I, like many others, assume Marvel will combine many franchises from their cinematic past to create Battleworld, including the FoxX-Mentimeline. If that happens, as is expected, Laura and Wolverine - and Deadpool - could be set up for a big role inAvengers: Secret Wars.
After Deadpool & Wolverine’s Ending, I Need Another Major MCU Movie To Bring Laura Back

If it was not evident enough already,Deadpool & Wolverine’s ending made it so that I really want Laura to come back in another MCU movie. Her role inDeadpool & Wolverinewas fantastic, but I admit that I would have liked an even bigger focus on where Laura is now as a person after last seeing her as a child inLogan. If she returns in the MCU’s future, I will be provided with exactly this, on top of the badass action X-23 has been known to showcase across her two major movie appearances thus far.
If Logan and Wade appear in upcoming MCU movies, as is all but guaranteed, Laura cannot be far behind…
Moreover,Deadpool & Wolverine’s ending simply set up Laura’s future. It was teased byLoki’s Hunter B-15 that Logan and Wade would have a part to play in the MCU’s future, and the film made a specific point of getting Laura back from The Void to stay with them. As such, if Logan and Wade appear in upcoming MCU movies, as is all but guaranteed, Laura cannot be far behind. This way, Dafne Keen’s wishes to see more of Laura afterDeadpool & Wolverinewill be granted, as will my own.
