I think the very point ofcosplayis to bring a character into real life in such a way that it feels like a two-dimensional page jumping directly into the three-dimensional world. One of the things thatCyclopsfans like me have never really gotten to see is Cyclops' iconic X-Men suit onscreen in this very way.It only took a bit of cosplay, but that has finally changed.
Most often, film franchises refuse to give superheroes comic-accurate costumes, citing that it would look too silly, and that comic books work differently than real life. Instagram cosplayerkevinkosplaysbegs to differ. While offering comic-accurate interpretations of Batman and Daredevil on his page, nothing beats his Cyclops.

Straight out of a comic book,a panel like this is what made me fall in love with Cyclops in the first place. Not only that, but it shows me what could be done in comics with Cyclops' optic beam if he got just as much attention and care as someone like Wolverine.
This Supergirl Cosplay Blurs the Line Between Reality and Comic Art
One cosplayer is generating extra hype for James Gunn’s Supergirl movie with a cosplay so surreal it looks like she stepped right out of a comic.
Cyclops Finally Gets His Comic Accurate Suit
The Leader of the X-Men Gets the Cosplay Treatment
The tide of comic-accurate costumes in modern media is turning. Thanks to films likeDeadpool & Wolverine, where fans finally got to seethe iconic Wolverine costume in live action, studios are starting to see a benefit to presenting heroes on-screen as they appear on the comics page. With kevinkosplays' costume, Cyclops looks terrific, both paying homage to his comic self and yet translating fantastically to the real world.I’ve been saying this for years, but the comic-accurate look can be done and done well.
It won’t be too long until great costumes like this end up onscreen. It seems that Cyclops is finally getting the fan base he deserves after showinghe’s the X-Men’s greatest leaderin the showX-Men ‘97.It’s a great time to be a Cyclops fan, and it’s an even better time to be a Cyclops cosplayer.
Cyclops Cosplayer Shows Off Optic Beam Blast
The Classic Lens Flare Is An Iconic Cyclops Look
The classic red and yellow color pattern matches so well with the iconic red light of Cyclops’ optic beam. The lens flare is especially my favorite, once again bringing that comic book feel to the real world that fools me into thinking I’m reading a comic. This is cosplay done at its finest, thanks to kevinkosplays' intricate character work ofa hero greater than Captain America.
Kevinkosplays fulfills my hope for a live-action Cyclops done right, with a fantastic lens flaring optic beamdone not just in a realistic style, but in a comic style.Cyclops doesn’t need to be translated from the world of comics. Bring the comics with him, like kevinkosplays does in this incrediblecosplay, and watch just how farCyclops' optic beam can go.

Cyclops
Cyclops, a.k.a. Scott Summers, is the X-Men’s core team leader and one of the first characters to appear in the franchise. As a human/mutant hybrid, Cyclops has the power to launch massive bursts of energy from his eyes that are regulated through the use of a specially designed visor. Despite his calm and collected demeanor, he tends to lose it when in the presence of a fellow team member, Wolverine.
