I Can’t Believe Chappell Roan’s New Country Song Has Left Out The Most Iconic Lyrics From Its SNL Debut

Chappell Roan cut the most iconic lyrics from the SNL debut of “The Giver,” her first country song—but she has a solid reason for the choice.

Additionally, the Midwest Princess recently released 7" vinyls of her singles “The Giver” and “Good Luck, Babe!” both featuring a B-side demo. Her meteoric comphet hit single came with the demo of a song that would hint at her foray into country called “Read & Makeout.“The song is a slow-yodeling country ballad which grapples with the struggle of queer love in the Midwest.

“The Giver” will feature a demo for a song called “Fix It In The Morning” on the B-side, according toIsland Records. The vinyls will not be delivered until mid-August, so currently little is known about the song. Additionally, the official lyric video for “The Giver” contains a stylized DVD menu with familiar song titles, but does not include “Fix It In The Morning.” Interestingly, there is a selection called “To Be Yours.” It is unclear if this means songs like “Read & Makeout” will soon be available to fans or if this is another unreleased song entirely.
