How To Prepare Against Elder Jinchi

Craft Armor And Gain Different Magic

You should try togain the Immobilize spellanddefeat optional enemies for transformationsbefore taking on Elder Jinchi.Transformations inBlack Myth: Wukongallows you to temporarily turn into a former boss, giving you special moves that can deal significant damage. While transformed, attacks that hit you don’t drain your health but rather reduce the total amount of time you stay transformed.

Immobilize is a spell that drains a lot of Mana in exchange for freezing an enemy or boss in place. Doing this to Elder Jinchi gives you a chance to deal free damage, especially with charged heavy attacks. Light attack combos that help regain Focus are useful to try while Jinchi is immobilized as well since they will help build continuous damage while restoring other resources.

Before you ring the final bell that takes you to Elder Jinchi, you should considercrafting armor inBlack Myth: Wukongto raise your defenses. A new staff that does higher damage may be crucial too, as the Elder has some of the highest health among the enemies you’ve seen in the game up to this point.

How To Defeat Elder Jinchi

Take Down Minions And Recognize Patterns

Elder Jinchi is extremely similar to the optionalWandering Wight boss inBlack Myth: Wukongyou may have already beaten in Chapter 1. Unlike that stone statue, Jinchi moves slightly faster, with attacks that are harder to dodge. The Elder is also supported by a host of zombie-like minions who try to swarm and overwhelm you any chance they get.

A good strategy for this fight is todefeat the minions to regain small amounts of healthas you battle Jinchi. Although you only gain back slivers of HP, defeating a large group of minions with a wide sweep of your staff could restore a good chunk of health. This will give you a chance to survive longer and have more chances to take down the boss.

How To Counter

Fist Strike Combo

Elder Jinchi dives forward at you, swinging his fists back and forth to try and hit you with close-range strikes.

These attacks can go together in long or short attack strings, so pay attention to where a fist is swinging and dodge in the opposite direction.

Deadly Stomp

Raising a foot up, Elder Jinchi stomps the ground, creating a small shockwave AoE on impact.

Dodge to the opposite side of whichever foot was raised, then run away a bit to avoid the AoE.

Earthquake

Elder Jinchi gathers energy before slamming both hands into the ground, causing rocks to float in the air. The boss digs his fists further, causing a huge AoE shockwave.

The boss can do this attack one to three times in a row with his hands on the ground, so simply run away from the AoE range until the attack concludes.

Energy Palm

Gathering energy in his right hand, Elder Jinchi thrusts his palm forward, creating a beam of energy that travels in a line to hit you from a distance.

Recognize the build-up for this move, then dodge quickly to your right as the energy is released for the attack to avoid it.

As you’re able to see in the above video by YouTube creatorEsoterickk, Elder Jinchi will occasionally float into the air glowing while in a praying pose. You can’t attack the boss while he’s in this state, but the minions become supercharged with explosive energy.Avoid minions during this phase, as each will explode if they manage to get near you while Jinchi levitates.
