Baldur’s Gate 3is oozing with characters and scenarios that are almost begging to star in a crossover, butLarian Studio’s latest suggestion may not be what fans expect. The massiveDungeons & DragonsRPG took the world by storm in 2023 but one year before it, another indie game that also predominately featured eldritch monsters similarlycaptivated the hearts of playerslooking for something unique. The action rogue-like may focus on a completely different set of mechanics, but it doesn’t take much to see how a crossover could be plenty of fun.
Over on X (formerly Twitter),Larian Studiosteased fans with the idea ofa crossover with Massive Monster’s excellentCult of the Lamb.

The studio shared a post that used the meme format of two different entities shaking hands regarding a shared interest; in this case, bothBaldur’s Gate 3andCult of Lambhave plenty of tentacles in common. While it’s unlikely that an actual crossover between the two franchises will come to pass, the idea is certainly fun to ponder, and with Massive Monster still building uponCult of the Lamb, there’s always a chance.
What Would A BG3/Cult Of The Lamb Crossover Look Like?
Even More Tentacles!
DespiteBaldur’s Gate 3andCult of the Lambhaving very different aesthetics, one can easily imagine some light crossover elements. With the latter’s follower system,it could be fun to have various characters based onBG3’s companions like Astarion, Shadowheart, and even Karlach. Melding the games' art styles to turn the realistic fantasy heroes into adorable cultists would be fun, especially if they’re given unique traits to bring them closer to how they behave in the Forgotten Realms.
On the other hand,Baldur’s Gate 3could take some ofthe items seen inCult of the Lamband give them aDungeons &Dragons-inspiredmakeover.Giving Karlach a great axe or sword inspired by the weapons used by the Lamb would be an easy way to connect the games. It could also allow players towear the cult leader’s crown, potentially giving them benefits like Advantage on Wisdom Saves or even access to unique Warlock spells.

Cult of the Lamb’s Expanded Lore Finally Acknowledges the Lamb Is a Villain
The comic adaptation of Cult of the Lamb shows its main character is not that innocent, revealing how bloodthirsty the Lamb can get when unleashed.
Since Larian Studios is actively winding down development onBaldur’s Gate 3, it’s unlikely that any crossovers are planned. Having said that, the community is already devising ways to drop Astarion, Wyll, and the rest of the crew in other games. One particularly talented creator is working on a mod thatbrings Tav’s party toStardew Valley, a decision that may have disastrous effects on the sleepy village of Pelican Town.
