8Figrin D’an Was The Leader Of The Modal Nodes

He Also Played The Kloo Horn And The Gasan String Drum

Also known by the nickname “Fiery” Figrin D’an, the leader of the musical group is best known for his critical nature. He was incredibly demanding of the band, ordering them around and even owning all the band’s instruments himself. It was Figrin who eventually signed the band with Jabba the Hutt, causing the rest of the Modal Nodes to fear Jabba’s wrath every time they played.

Aside from this, Figrin did not choose a side in the war with theGalactic Empire. He stayed out of this conflict, deciding that it would be more beneficial to remain neutral and focus on music. This, along with his addiction to glitterstims and gambling, would remain his life’s sole focus.

7Doikk Na’ts Was One Of The Band’s More Relaxed Members

He Was A Master Of The Dorenian Beshniquel

Unique among the rest of those in the band, Doikk Na’ts was actually the only member of the Modal Nodes to own his own instrument, a reed instrument known as a Dorenian Beshniquel or a Fizzz. This was because he made his instrument himself, carving the reeds used to play the instrument by hand. His music was considered incredibly high quality, and his temperament was incredibly level-headed.

When signed to Jabba the Hutt,Doikk Na’ts was accused of stealing from Jabba’s collection of feckled toads that he kept to snack on.Because of this, the group was threatened with being fed to a Rancor, making it a necessity for them all to escape from his palace. The series of events that follows their escape is what eventually leads them to theMos EisleyCantina, and from there, they go on to play across the galaxy.

The Character’s Signature Instrument Was The Double Jocimer

Ickabel played the Double Jocimer for the group’s songs, which was another kind of reed instrument similar to the Dorenian Beshniquel.

Ickabel’s favorite song to play with the band was one known as “Tears of Aquanna.” This was because the song featured a long Double Jocimer solo, allowing Ickabel to show off the skills required to play the instrument at such a high level. In canon, she also wrote a memoir about her time in the band titledThe Lady Has a Jocimer: My Life as a Modal Node, A Memoir.

1Tedn Dahai Held A Grudge Against Ickabel G’ont In Legends

He Was Not A Primary Member Of The Group

Even though Tedn Dahai was a long time member of Figrin D’an and the Modal Nodes,he was often forced to remain as backup for Ickabel G’ont. This was because the two of them both played an instrument known as the Fanfar, and Figrin considered Ickabel to be the more talented of the two. He held this against Ickabel, with the two of them going on to argue about little things including the size of their Fanfar cases.

Being a musician was not the only career path that Tedn followed, because before that he was a member of the Imperial Navy.
