The buffs that Blade will receive inHonkai: Star Rail3.4 may instantly become worthless in the face of the release of aFatecollab character if the leaks about them are accurate. Version 3.4 is fairly far away as HoYoverse’s turn-based RPG is still entering Version 3.2. With each patch lasting six weeks according to the regular update schedule,it should take about three months before Version 3.4 is added to the game,so players will have to spend the majority of this time focusing on the current content, like the release ofCastorice inHonkai: Star Rail3.2.

The developer had already mentioned that several older characters in the game would receive buffs so as to make them competitive in the current meta and, by augmenting their powers to match the current standards, turn them usable once more for the game’s various activities. During the Version 3.2 livestream, the developers announced that the first batch of characters to receive these buffs are Silver Wolf, Blade, Jingliu, and Kafka. According to the developers, the buffs will be applied to these characters in Version 3.4, but that may overlap with the highly anticipatedFatecollab event inHonkai: Star Rail.

Saber May Be Released In Honkai: Star Rail 3.4’s Fate Collab Event

The Character’s Release Has Long Been Rumored

According to information provided by the leaker known as Uncle Jtt5CPW,Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works’ Saber will be one of the collab units in Version 3.4, and she may be a Wind character who follows the Path of the Destruction. The leak was shared in a post onReddit, over which the leaker known as Sakura Haven commented. This is not the first time a leak has mentioned that theFatecollab event would happen in Version 3.4. The previously mentioned rumors have also shown thatHonkai: Star Railwill see theFatecollab in Version 3.4.

While HoYoverse has yet to announce a specific update for the collab event, it is known that it will happen in 2025’s Q3, which runs between July and September, and, because of that, will likely encompass Versions 3.4 through 3.6, giving further credence to the leaks.

The comment made by Sakura Haven over Uncle Jtt5CPW’s leak shows that the information about Saber’s Path and element cannot be confirmed just yet. They do mention, however, that there should be at least one Wind character arriving in the game between Version 3.4 and 3.5, which could be Saber. The same period should also see the release of at least one Physical character. This lines up with the rumors aboutPhainon’s release inHonkai: Star Rail3.4, who is said to be a Physical character.

Saber May Powercreep Buffed Blade In Honkai: Star Rail 3.4

Blade’s Update May Be Downscaled To Push Saber’s Sales

Even though it has yet to be confirmed whether Saber will be released in Version 3.4 and if she is truly a Wind character on the Path of the Destruction, these rumors could have a major impact on Blade’s confirmed buff during the patch. This is because Blade himself is a 5-star Wind character following the Path of the Destruction. If Saber, a character with the same Path and element, were to be released during the same patch as Blade’s buff, there is a chance he will be instantlypowercrept inHonkai: Star Rail3.4.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2: Should You Get Luocha Or Ruan Mei For Free During The Update

HoYoverse will reward players with a free copy of Luocha or Ruan Mei, at their choice, starting in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2. Here’s the best among them.

Because most Paths follow an archetype – apart from Remembrance, which deliberately plays around with various team comp roles for its characters – it doesn’t really matter how different Saber’s upcoming kit will be from Blade’s.Even if Saber doesn’t use HP loss as her main source of damage output like Blade, if she is a Destruction character, she will most likely be a DPS, and that already makes her an alternative to Blade. Both characters will essentially fulfill the same role in team comps: dealing massive loads of Wind DMG to enemies inHonkai: Star Rail.

As such, the much-needed and long-awaited buff to Blade’s kit may prove to be useless in the face of a newer and stronger Wind character following the Path of the Destruction. Certainly, for players who don’t intend to pull for Saber during theFateevent – Saber and Archer are rumored to be the collab characters –the buff will be significant in the sense that they will be able to use Blade once again in the current meta and possibly keep up with most activitiesinHonkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail’s Fate Collab Can Fix Genshin Impact’s Biggest Blunder

Honkai: Star Rail will receive a collab event with Fate/stay night in late 2025 and it could fix one of the biggest mistakes with Genshin Impact.

However, it’s very likely that Saber will be at least a tad bit stronger so as to push sales. If Saber is just as strong as Blade or, perhaps, weaker than him, players should have no reason to pull for her other than appreciation for theFatefranchise. This is aggravated by the fact that Blade is becoming one of the options for the 50/50 loss pool within the newchanges to banners inHonkai: Star Rail3.2, which will make him even more accessible than before. Because of this, Blade could be powercrept almost immediately after his buff.

Blade’s Buff In Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Needs To Be Strong To Endure New Releases

The Updated Character Will Inevitably Be Compared To Newer Characters

To ensure Blade isn’t powercrept, his buff needs to attempt to bring him as close as possible to the current standard. This should happen in a way to guarantee that he can be used consistently across activities that require a powerful Wind DPS and that he could be considered a main option along with newer releases. This is the only way to make sure his buff doesn’t occur in vain. If his buff proves to be suboptimal in the face of the current and futureAmphoreus characters inHonkai: Star Rail, the work on his buff may be for nothing.

Honkai Star Rail 3.2 Leaks: Castorice & Anaxa’s Buffs Before Release May Make Them More Enticing To Pull For

New leaks from Honkai: Star Rail 3.2’s beta tests show that both Castorice and Anaxa have been buffed ahead of their release in the update.

It’s impossible not to compare Blade’s upcoming buff to more recent Wind DPS characters like Anaxa in Version 3.2. While Anaxa’s kit is unique, focusing on the infliction of new Weaknesses on enemies, Blade’s revamped damage output will be put side-by-side with Anaxa’s damage, too. If Saber is truly a Wind Destruction character, the comparisons will be inevitable. The dilemma HoYoverse may face is to either powercreep Blade with Saber to push her sales or to make them equal, even if at the cost of sales, to make Blade competitive inHonkai: Star Railagain.
