As shown by the first teaser forYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, what appears to be Peter’s homemade suit in the animated series is quite different from the one Holland wore inSpider-Man: Homecoming. The project will have many of those differences, as Marvel intends to show a new Spider-Man world, complete withits own version of Norman Osborn, played by Colman Domingo. The new footage also reveals how distinct the 3D cel-shaded animation style for the show is, looking more similar to a moving comic book than most animated projects.

The Animation Style Is A Mixed Bag
I’m still excited forYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, but I have to say that the animation style of the show threw me off. I can see what Marvel Animation is going for, as the vibrant colors and the way the characters look and move are all very comic-book-y. However, there have been better-looking Spider-Man shows in the past, so I was not blown away by the new footage. Still, afterX-Men ‘97showed how Marvel can nail animated shows, I believe thatYour Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’s story will be exciting enough to make me stay interested.
