A new clip from9-1-1season 8 shows Buck in the hospital, suffering from a potential curse.9-1-1season 8 has started offstrong with positive audience reviews and viewership numbers. The series kicked off on September 26, airing three consecutive weeks of a three-part premiere wherein a giant swarm of bees, coined Bee-Nado, took over Los Angeles. Now,9-1-1season 8 will air episodes weekly on Thursday. This new episode will have a Halloween theme, as there will not be an episode next week on Halloween itself.

In anEntertainment Weeklyexclusive clip, a sneak peek at the upcoming episode is given. In the video, Buck is visited in the hospital by his boyfriend Tommy. Buck then explains that for 118’s Haunt Fest,he “brought in a dummy” that ended up being a corpse. After Tommy giggles about the situation, Buck still seems serious, saying “I accidentally ripped a guy’s left arm right out of its socket,” and then his left arm also got dislodged from its socket. With this strange coincidence, Buck concludes that he might be cursed.

What This Means For 9-1-1’s Upcoming Episode

In a goofy end to the clip, Buck explains that the bill of sale for the corpse dummy said the prop house bought the corpse “from a carnival, who got him from a novelty shop, who got him from a rodeo.” This moment adds to theabsurdity of the scene, wherein a supportive but dubious Tommy is being told by his significant other that he has been cursed. The clip cuts off before it can reveal what Buck’s conclusion is about this rodeo, but from the way the character frames it, he is likely suspecting some kind of conspiracy theory.

After this week’s episode, the next episode of9-1-1, titled “Confessions,” will air on November 7.

This9-1-1season 8clip implies thatthe upcoming Halloween episode could have a mystical element. The series has been known to have outlandish spooky season episodes in the past. The season 2 episode, “Haunted,” for example, includes everything from flaming bats attacking a haunted house and a ghost calling9-1-1. This track record shows that the show is not afraid to shy away from supernatural elements for its Halloween episodes, and it looks like the show will do it again with “Mask.”

9-1-1’s Halloween Episode May Not Be Its Craziest Of Season 8

Nothing Can Top Bee-Nado

Though a rodeo ghost haunting Buck is an absurd plotline, I do not think it will be the craziest thing the show has done this season. I cannot imagine anything they do will top opening the season with the Bee-Nado episode “Buzzkill.” Unlike the Halloween episode, Bee-Nado is not portrayed as mystical, but is rooted in reality. The real-life implications of these scenes make9-1-1season 8’s premiere episodeseven wilder. Still, it will be fascinating to see how Buck’s curse plays out in9-1-1season 8, episode 5.
