Love Is Blindseason 7 is coming to a close, but producers might have ruined the show over the years. The current iteration of the hit Netflix series, set in Washington, D.C., saw six couples exit the pods engaged: Alex Byrd and Tim Godbee, Hannah Jiles and Nick Dorka, Ashley Adionser and Tyler Francis, Marissa George and Ramses Prashad, Monica Davis and Stephen Richardson, and Taylor Krause and Garrett Josemans. However, excess drama and bad casting taintedLove Is Blindseason 7.
While there areLove Is Blindseason 7 castmembers seeking to find genuine love, the popularity of the show has led to clout chasers and bad actors seeking fame on the hit series. The entertainment value has dropped because of the disingenuous nature of the show. Here’s why the producers have failed the series over the years.

8They Haven’t Replaced Nick And Vanessa As Hosts
The Lacheys Are Unpopular
Nick Lachey and Vanessa Lachey have been terrible hosts ofLove Is Blind, and producers should have replaced them by now. They simply don’t add value to the show, only appearing at the beginning of the pods, wedding dress shopping, and the reunion. Their hosting style lacks depth, with Vanessa being overly intrusive during the reunion episodes, while Nick does nothing.
20 Best Reality TV Shows Right Now
Reality TV is more popular than ever. With so many to choose from, here are some of the best reality TV shows to stream or watch right now.
The backlash against Vanessa and Nick intensified after theLove Is Blindseason 4 reunion whenVanessa pushed too hard about cast members having babies, which was uncomfortable. They also clearly favor certain couples over others and refuse to ask tough questions. Internet sleuths would be better at hosting the reunion than Nick and Vanessa. While there was some improvement in their questioning ofTrevor Sova at theLove Is Blindseason 6 reunion, they’re still too out of touch to host.

7Too Many Big Events Happen Off-Camera
Love Is Blindproducers have gotten worse at capturing the most dramatic moments on the show. For example, the first drop of episodes inLove Is Blindseason 7 featured the fallout from a fight between Alex and Tim. The pair endured a tumultuous time in Mexico, with Alex not appreciating Tim’s sense of humor and Tim unable to meet Alex’s expectations. However, Tim looked traumatized as Alex addressed him the day after the fight.
Cast members have gotten better at waiting for producers to leave before having explosive fights or revealing shocking information.
Unfortunately for fans, the altercation happened off camera, includingAlex allegedly putting her hand over Tim’s mouthto get him to stop talking. However, this wasn’t the only heated discussion that happened without producers present.Tyler also revealed he was a sperm donorto Ashley off camera, and fans were only privy to the aftermath of their conversation on the show. Producers need to figure out a way to respect contestants' privacy while also capturing the important moments onLove Is Blind.
6There Have Been Several Allegations & Lawsuits Against The Producers
Cast Members Have Felt Unsafe
There have been multiple lawsuits and troubling allegations againstLove Is Blind, some of which have prompted changes, but others remain unresolved by the irresponsible producers. First,Love Is Blindseason 2’s Nick Thompson and Jeremy Hartwell were outspoken about the show’s detrimental impact on their mental health. Nick mentioned the lack of proper psychological evaluations, sleep deprivation, and insufficient food and water provided by the producers. Along with Jeremy, he was involved in legal efforts to hold the production accountable. This is why ample food is now seen on camera.

Additionally,Renee Poche had her entire storyline cutinLove Is Blindseason 5 because of the concerning behavior of her former fiancé, Carter Wall. However, Renee still wasn’t allowed to leave while filming the show due to her contract. After the show aired, Renee filed a lawsuit seeking to nullify her contract after her traumatic experience on the show. She was pressured to continue her engagement with Carter despite production expressing concerns about Renee’s safety.
Perhaps most publicly,Tran Dang filed a lawsuit alleging she was sexually assaulted by fellow contestant Thomas Smithduring their trip to Mexico inLove Is Blindseason 5. Tran claimed that despite reporting the assault, the producers didn’t take appropriate action. Tran and Thomas were subsequently completely scrubbed from all season 5 promotional materials and airing.
5Love Is Blind Has Become Less Authentic
The Experiment Has Been Tainted
Love Is Blindhas become way less authentic over the years. Gone are the days of Lauren Speed-Hamilton and Cameron Hamilton or Brett Brown and Tiffany Pennywell. Instead, the cast has been filled with grifters and fame grubbers. In earlier seasons, the show focused heavily on the emotional connections and relationships formed in the pods.
AsLove Is Blind’s popularity grows, it will become more difficult to differentiate between genuine cast members and clout chasers.
Unfortunately, as the series has progressed, the emphasis has shifted toward creating dramatic, reality TV-style moments. This is ridiculous because the earlier seasons still had plenty of drama, but it happened organically and wasn’t manufactured by producers. Over the years, various cast members, whether married or not, have built social media platforms so large they could quit their jobs. This has encouraged clearclout chasers like Jessica Vestal or Micah Lussierto come on the show with no real intention of marriage.
4They’ve Made Terrible Casting Decisions
Love Is Blindproducers have made terrible casting decisions. While there were unpopular cast members in earlier seasons, likeLove Is Blindseason 2’s Shake Chatterjee, and season 3’s Bartise Bowden, neither of them were dangerous or dishonest individuals. Both simply expressed different physical preferences than the women they proposed to. While disheartening, they weren’t threatening the safety of their fiancé. However, there have been some potentially dangerous casting decisions in recent years.
Bohdan has yet to address the sexual assault allegations.
Renee didn’t feel safe with Carter, her fiancé onLove Is Blindseason 5. Tran had to leave the show because of a sexual assault in the same season. While Marissa chose Ramses in the pods, allegations have arisen regarding her other connection, Bohdan Olinares. According to allegations detailed on@chapellferom0an’s TikTok, Bohdan sexually assaulted a woman whom he was casually dating afterLove Is Blindseason 7 was filmed. Clearly, production needs to prioritize cast members' safety.
3The Editing Shows Cast Members In A Different Light
Love Is Blind’s editing has gotten more intense over the years. In one conversation between Marissa and Ramses about the military, their conversation seemed to be stitched together with shoddy editing, and Ramses ended up looking like the villain in their discussion. Additionally, Ramses claimed the discussion about birth control wasn’t complete inLove Is Blind. Therefore, it becomes easier for cast members to blame editing for their bad behavior.
While there’s undoubtedly some truth to certain cast members benefitting or suffering from “the edit,” the excuse has become tired and overused.
Art dealer Leo Braudyalso claimed he barely mentioned his wealth in the pods, and other male cast members backed up his assertions that he didn’t talk much or at all about his money. Editing also probably played a role in the explosive fight Garrett and Taylor endured in recent episodes regarding his texts to an ex. While editing is necessary when there are thousands of hours of footage, producers have contributed to the “bad edit” excuse by chopping up scenes.
2Newer Cast Members Are Only There For Fame
They Want To Get Cast On Perfect Match
NewLove Is Blindcast members are clearly only on the show for fame. The most egregious example fromLove Is Blindseason 7 is Hannah, who gets engaged to former football player Nick in the pods. While she also had a connection with Leo, she went crawling back to Nick after realizing Leo was also talking to Brittany Wisniewski. Despite having zero compatibility with Nick, she accepted an engagement.
Hannah quitting her job to be onLove Is Blindshould have been a red flag, but the way she treated Nick was the nail in the coffin. Nick undoubtedly had some growing up to do, but Hannah was vitriolic and hateful towards him at every turn, finally breaking things off ahead of wedding dress shopping. After losing a significant amount of weight and becoming a villain on the show, it’s clearHannah is angling to get cast onPerfect Matchseason 3and continue her reality TV fame. Marriage was never the goal.
Other clout chasers include Jess, whose epi pen speech skyrocketed her to reality TV fame, and Micah, who also lost weight and appeared onPerfect Matchseason 2. Both have significant Instagram platforms and modeling deals that transformed their lives. While it’s possible they went on the show for the right reasons, it seems unlikely.
1Producers Don’t Adequately Perform Background Checks
Tyler Has Three Children
Love Is Blindproducers need to get better about background checksif the show is going to continue. For example, Stephen clearly has some niche sexual kinks that most folks won’t want to engage in. However, he needs to find someone who can satisfy him without shaming him. Instead, he made Monica uncomfortable for the entirety of their engagement with his explicit discussions and cheating via text. Additionally, Trevor presented himself as a big teddy bear in the pods onLove Is Blindseason 6, but it turned out he had a girlfriend at home the whole time.
Perhaps most egregiously, Tyler seems to have a relationship with his three sperm donor babies. While it seems obvious that it was indeed a donor situation, there are many photos of Tyler with his kids online. Despite this fact, Tyler lied straight to Ashley’s face, saying he didn’t think the kids knew what he looked like. Internet sleuths are better at doingLove Is Blindproducers' jobs. If they can’t step up, it’s time for the show to end.
Love Is Blindseason 7’s finale airs on Wednesday, October 23, at 12 a.m. PT on Netflix.
