WARNING: Contains Potential Spoilers for TITANS #15!
DC lore shifts permanently as an extinction-level threat is finally defeated, with oneTitanuttering three words that bring their iconic origin story full circle, closing a 44-year chapter of their narrative. However, fans may find it hard to believe that such a pivotal piece of this character’s history is no more—and they might be right to question it.
Tom Taylor, Lucas Meyer, and Adriano Lucas bring theDark-Winged Queenstorylineto a thrilling conclusion inTitans#15. In this issue, Raven and the Titans face off against her dark counterpart, the Dark-Winged Queen, and her father, Trigon. However, the story takes a sharp turn when the two Ravens reconcile and merge, becoming a more complete version of themselves.

Even with her newfound strength, Raven still lacks the power to defeat Trigon. In a show of solidarity, the Titans volunteer to temporarily become gemstones in her crown, significantly boosting her abilities. Armed with Trigon’s axe,Raven ultimately overcomes her father, driving the weapon through his chest and concluding the battle with a defiant,“@$#% you, Dad.”
“I Didn’t Kill Him. Demons Don’t Die. They Just Fade Away.”-Raven InTitans#15
Raven vanquishing Trigon marks one of the most significant moments in her comic history. Since her inception,Raven has been defined by her originas the half-human, half-demon daughter of Angela Roth and the demon overlord Trigon. Trigon has played a monumental role in her story, often serving as a primary antagonist. Even when not at the center of conflict, he remains a haunting specter in Raven’s life. Therefore, the possibility of her being free from his influence and interference forever represents a major development for her character, marking perhaps the first time in her comic history that she is truly and wholly free.
Despite no explicit confirmation, it appears that Trigon is permanently dispatched, even if he isn’t dead. After Raven drives the axe through Trigon’s chest, effectively ending the battle, she picks up on Nightwing’s concern and reassures him, saying,“It’s all right. I didn’t kill him. Demons don’t die. They just fade away.”This statement suggests that Trigon’s ‘not death’ is more of a technicality based on the definition of ‘die’ rather than anything else. If"fade away"and"die"are synonymous, it is likely that this marks a true end for the iconic villain, offering Raven’s origin story a full circle moment.

[SPOILER] Is Now DC’s Most Powerful Hero, With 1 Feat That Makes Superman Look Like an Insect
A DC hero has just defeated one of the DC Universe’s most formidable beings, harnessing their power to propel herself to astonishing new power levels.
Is Trigon Truly Gone for Good? (Or Should Fans Brace for His Return?)
Even If Trigon Returns, Don’t Expect to See Him Anytime Soon
Considering that DC operates on comic logic, there’s always a chance Trigon could return. However, even if Raven’s father does make a dramatic comeback, it will certainly be a long time coming. Beyond the fact that Trigon would need to recover from literally fading away, theTitanstitle is about to welcome a new creative team as part ofDC’s ALL IN initiative. Consequently,Titans#16 will center on the events of ALL IN and the impending creation of the Absolute Universe, rather than on Trigon. Hence, it’s safe to say thatRavenand theTitanswill embark on many epic and Trigon-less adventures for the foreseeable future.
