Over the past three seasons,Evilhas been building a narrative directed towards a climactic apocalyptic event that will bring evil to New York. “I Got Paramount+ To Watch This Show”: Why Evil Season 5 Still Needs To Happen After Shock Cancelation

The end of the Paramount+ supernatural series, Evil, has fans and cast desperate to save the show with hopes an Evil season 5 could happen.

10Why Has Leland Been So Fixated On Kristen And Her Family?

Leland’s Focus On The Bouchard Family Has Been Apparent From Season 1

Since the beginning ofEvilseason 1, Leland (Michael Emerson) has been fixated on Kristen (Katja Herbers) and her family. He quickly latched onto Kristen’s mother, Sheryl (Christine Lahti), and used her as a way to keep tabs on the Bouchard family.Over the course of the last four seasons, Leland’s fixation on Kristen has escalated: he acquired her ovum and implanted it in a surrogate to create Timothy the antichrist baby; he tried to groom Kristen’s daughter, Lexis (Maddy Crocco) to do bad things; and inEvilseason 4, he even bought the house next door to Kristen.

WhatEvilhasn’t yet explained is why.InEvilseason 3, Kristen asks David (Mike Colter) if the attention to her family from Leland and the Church was by some design or mere coincidence. David assures her that, from his perspective, he approached her because she’s good at her job and his team needed a psychologist. Yet Kristen’s suspicions are valid, and it seems curious how these events lined up. This major storyline will need to be explained in the last four episodes because it’s been at the core of the show since the start.

9Are Kristen Or Sheryl Part Demon?

Kristen’s Father Is Unknown And Could Be A Demon

One possible explanation for Leland’s insistence on using Kristen’s ovum to create an antichrist baby is that she is, in fact, part demon. Kristen hasn’t discussed much about her father, and neither does Sheryl, soit’s possible that Kristen’s father was a demon, which would make her at least part demon. InEvilseason 2, Sheryl says to Leland “Do you know how many demons I dated before you?” which may also hint at who Kristen’s father was.

Alternatively, Kristen’s mom could also be part demon.Sheryl is one of the few people who sees her boss, the Manager Demon, in his true formas a smelly, five-eyed demon and not the regular two-eyed human who apparently resembles Ted Danson. When Sheryl invites Lexis to her work and introduces her to her boss, Lexis also only sees the human form of the Manager Demon, which Sheryl interprets as meaning that Lexis isn’t “the one.” However, withSheryl now dead, there may not be a conclusive answer to this unless she returns in flashbacks for theEvilseries finale.

Evil Season 2 May Have Subtly Revealed A Massive Kristen Twist That Explains Leland’s Season 4 Plans

The supernatural Paramount+ show, Evil, hints at Kristen (Katja Herbers) being part demon. One moment in Evil season 2 may reveal her true origins.

8Why Is Kristen’s Egg Used To Create The Antichrist Baby?

Leland Was Adamant About Taking & Using Her Ovum To Make Timothy

InEvilseasons 3 and 4, Kristen discovers that Leland bought one of her abandoned ova, fertilized it with his sperm, and had it implanted into a surrogate mother. This, Leland claims, would result in the creation of the antichrist. InEvilseason 4, episode 3, Timothy – the so-called antichrist – is born, but there are many questions remaining about Timothy. The most pressing of which beingwhy exactly was Kristen’s egg so important?

[Kristen] and her DNA were targeted for a reason, and theEvilseries finale will need to explain why this happened.

As discussed, one possible reason is because Kristen is part demon. So, with her part-demon DNA combined with whatever Leland is, it would make sense that this would result in an antichrist offspring. However,if Kristen isn’t a demon, then it isn’t clear why Leland would be so adamant on using her DNAfor this purpose. She and her DNA were targeted for a reason, and theEvilseries finale will need to explain why this happened.

7Is Timothy Actually The Antichrist?

Evil’s Nature Versus Nurture Argument Is Apparent In The Supposed Antichrist Baby

Although Leland is clearly convinced that Timothy is the antichrist, there still seems to be some ambiguity around the baby’s actual status. Leland strongly believes that if Kristen raises Timothy, he will develop into the antichrist. However, Kristen and Ben (Aasif Mandvi), asTeam Science, are strongly of the belief that one’s environment is more important than one’s DNA.

To complicate matters further,Sheryl has Timothy baptizedin a secret ceremony that many supernatural forces were clearly trying hard to stop. Leland tries to hide this fact from his evil circle and the Manager Demon, but Sheryl informs her boss about what happened, laying the blame on Leland, and in a dark all-hands meeting, the Manager Demon announces a different child as the hailed antichrist baby. Leland lashes out and murders the demon, but the question remains regarding Timothy and his potential as the antichrist.

On the Paramount+ series, Evil, baby Timothy is meant to be the antichrist. Is he really? Leland thinks he is, but Kristen and Ben aren’t so sure.

6Who Is Sister Andrea Really?

The Nun May Be More Than Just A Pious Believer

Sister Andrea (Andrea Martin) is a feisty nun who is acutely attuned to the supernatural goings-on around the church. She zeroed in on David, at times serving as his mentor and guide so he could hone his spiritual visions without the aid of illegal substances. She’s also a formidable demon hunter, facing demons large and small wherever she finds them, but is kept mostly relegated to the background of the church, highlighting the discrimination inherent in the Catholic Church’s hierarchy.

However, is Sister Andrea actually all that she appears to be? The show occasionally hints that there could be more to the demon-hunting nun. At times, she seems like she could be an incarnation of God himself, sometimes an angel sent to protect David and the world from the impending evil, sometimes as just a deeply pious woman making a solid case for sainthood. Martin has divulged thatSister Andrea will face an epic demonin theEvilseries finale, so perhaps this will reveal her true self.

5Can The Entity Be Trusted?

Sister Andrea Insists The Entity Is Untrustworthy

ThroughoutEvilseasons 3 and 4, David has been increasingly involved with the mysterious Catholic Church group known unofficially as the Entity. Many warn David against consorting with the group, but he keeps doing missions for them. The Entity also helps David discover and develop his gift of remote viewing, finding that he’s able to inhabit the bodies of others and see through their eyes. This has proven both useful and harmful, as he has helped rescue imprisoned missionaries, but has also made a connection with Leland that he cannot now close off.

Of those particularly adamant against David being involved with the Entity is Sister Andrea, whose insights and instincts have frequently proven to be accurate.

Of those particularly adamant against David being involved with the Entity is Sister Andrea, whose insights and instincts have frequently proven to be accurate. However, the nun doesn’t elaborate on why the Vatican group can’t be trusted, nor why it could be dangerous for David to pursue. As David’s remote viewing skills improve and his involvement with the Entity increases, how trustworthy the group are will be important in the episodes leading up to theEvilfinale.

4How Are The Drawings That Grace Is Finishing Relevant To The Impending Evil?

The Drawings Could Complete The Missing Legend On The Codex

InEvilseason 2, Grace Ling (Li Jun Li) is the subject of investigation for her prophecies that appear to come true. She starts drawing odd images, which the team discovers fill in missing pieces from an ancient and secret documentthat few in the Catholic Church even know exists. Her drawings are a perfect fit, and although Grace is deported back to China, the Vatican, with the help of the Entity and David’s missions, are able to extract her. But the Church similarly keeps the prophetess under a watchful eye, insisting she finish the drawings.

Grace has provided the team with insights into the evil that’s coming to New York, but since her assassination attempt, her whereabouts have remained a mystery. The document is connected to the sigils that map out the 60 demonic housesand which are also tied to the impending evil, but their big-picture relevance to the final showdown is still a little unclear. However, Robert King has promised that theEvilseries finale will reveal who The 60 are, so there may be hope for this storyline to have a conclusion.

3Where’s Andy?

Kristen’s Husband Isn’t Integral But Should Be Present In The Evil Finale

Although Patrick Brammall’s portrayal of the frequently absent father, Andy Bouchard, has been pitch-perfect, his character has had a rough time throughout the series. InEvilseason 4, after struggling to cope with the figurative demons that his confinement in Leland’s apartment left,Andy was taken to a mental health facility where he could focus on getting better. However, little else has been mentioned of Kristen’s husband or his true whereabouts.

There are no indications that something nefarious has happened to Andy, but his absence from the Bouchard home is concerning. Although Andy doesn’t seem to have any direct connection to the show’s climax, it would be unfortunate to leave his whereabouts unknown or unresolved in theEvilseason finale episodes. His difficult journey and steadfast devotion to his daughters and wife have given the show interesting dimensions to explore, so, hopefully, he won’t be left out in the end.

2How Are DF & RSM Fertility Connected?

Both Evil Companies Are Run By Demonic Forces

The two key corporate entities that seem central to many of the demonic storylines inEvilhave been the RSM Fertility Clinic and DF. RSM Fertility is the clinic that Kristen and Andy visited that resulted in the birth of their daughter Lexis. Kristen, David, and Ben later discover thatRSM is also connected to many of the children who would become demonically possessedor do terrible things. This leads to Kristen’s concern that Lexis, too, is potentially demonic or being manipulated into doing bad things.

The last four episodes will need to answer questions about what these companies are and their involvement in the evil coming to New York.

DF is a company that Leland works with, which is managed by Satanic forces and a Manager Demon. Leland also got Sheryl a job at DF, where she literally broke the glass ceiling in her half-sized office, but her rise in the company was shut down with her murder. Beyond just having demonic ties to the evil forces that run them, the two companies seem to be particularly important to theEvilseries finale. The last four episodes will need to answer questions about what these companies are and their involvement in the evil coming to New York.

1Why Is Evil Being Canceled?

This Is What Viewers Want Answered The Most

When the Kings were asked in aHollywood Reporterinterview, “What’s the most concerning conversation that you’ve had with an executive in the past six months?” They responded by saying:

MICHELLEThe most concerning conversation is the one that just happens over and over — which is, “There’s no money to make shows.”

ROBERTAlso, for me, it was, “We’re canceling your show — and not because of quality or that people aren’t watching,” I don’t know what it is. It’s all going to horses.

It appears that even the show’s creators don’t have an answer forwhyEvilis being canceledamid its high ratings, critical acclaim, and loyal fan base. Most shows would be lucky to have such a strong foundation, so it’s confusing that the show would end in this way.

TheEvilseries finale will air on Paramount+ on August 22.

However, this question may long remain a mystery for its audience. Viewers hold hope that the Kings will return to theEviluniverse in the future as a potential spin-off series, or perhaps to continue the show on another network. There’s no official word yet about whether there will be a future forEvil, but with fan petitions, pleas from cast and crew to saveEvil, and threats that fans will cancel their Paramount+ subscriptions, the show’s audience hope their message is heard.
